We've also leased out another 6000 square feet of space to allow for the following:

Texas Military Historical Society - WWII Re-enactors from the state of Texas and Oklahoma
1:1 Scale Military Vehicles from local collectors and museums in North Texas
501st Legion (Star Garrison) Star Wars Enthusiasts who outfit themselves as Clone Troopers, Storm Troopers, and other members of the Empire
Mandalorian Mercs (Clan Muraan) Same as the above but who have an affinity for Boba Fett, Jango Fett and all things Mandalorian

After a one year absence, we've also decided to bring back the custom figure contests. We've changed it up a little this year by breaking it up into two classes - Military (1:6 scale and 1:18 scale) and General (1:6 scal and 1:18 scale).

Finally, for the first time ever, the show will have on display a G.I. Joe: Adventure Team Timeline on display. What's an Adventure Team Timeline you ask? Well, if all goes as planned, we will have all (or close to all) of the Adventure Team product line on display, from 1970 to the end of the line. Items such as figures, uniform sets, accessories, vehicles, window boxes and other packaging, will be laid out in sequential order, so people can see how they were released, year by year. Should be fun for all...

Needless to say, we're pulling out all the stops for this show. Will be taking place on Labor Day weekend (September 3rd and 4th) so, start planning a nice vacation day with the family!!!

More to follow...

Also...for those of you 12" collectors that might be interested. The local Dallas / Fort Worth G.I. Joe Collectors Club will be offering another convention exclusive uniform set at this year’s show.

Can't spill any of the details yet but it's shaping up to be a great set.

Thought I'd go ahead and post what the prizes would be for the Custom 3&3/4" Figure Contests since we just finalized it all yesterday.

We'll address the Military Category first:

Third Place is a Custom Cast Action Figure Kit/Project 1995 Redux Figure from Broken Arrow Toys.
Second Place is the G.I. Joe Club Direct to Consumer G.I. Joe 7 Figure Pack.
First Place includes color cover art prints of G.I. Joe: Origins, Issues 1 thru 5, signed by cover artist Tom Feister PLUS the winner gets to commission Tom to draw any G.I. Joe character of their choice, in color.

Now the Non-Military Category:

Third Place is G.I Joe Origins #21 and 23 Cover Art, signed by Tom Feister + IDW's G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero # 155.5, signed by Larry Hama.
Second Place is the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club Complete M.O.T.H. Set (all four sets).
First Place includes all four of the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club 3&3/4" Adventure Team Figure Sets (Land Adventurer, Sea Adventurer, Air Adventurer, Commander, Dr. Venom).

If you're going to do a custom figure (or figures) this year, be sure to fill out an entry form and fax it in. Rule and forms can be found here:

Be advised - as of the meeting this past Saturday (10/1) the club has only 24 of these uniform sets remaining for sale.

Once they are gone they are gone for good.

For all of the information check out DFWJoe.com.

Thanks,
