I had some water and mold damage make its way to my movie collection but thankfully only the rear of the cabinets was affected and not the actual movie cases. Whew.

Thankfully it happened though because I was able to fix the leak at this stage of the leak.

But it was exhausting removing all my movies, dusting them and putting them back once I cleaned up the mess.

I started having thoughts of going digital while cleaning lol

This may be old news, but you can now preorder the 4K Steelbooks from Best Buy for Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy. They're all due to drop on 10/1.

Was in a couple of best buy?s today and was very surprised at how pathetic the movie section is. Was able to snag a couple of Marvel SBs, but they had almost nothing to pick from.

I remember going through the aisles. I loved getting DVDs and then Blu-Rays for my collection. I'm still in favor of physical media, no matter how hard it is to find.

I worked for a few years at 2 mom and pop non chain vhs video stores in the 80?s.

What a glorious age it was for discovering horror, science fiction, action and martial arts movies.

Discovering movies only came from reading magazine articles or the order catalog at the store. Man I used to love opening up the new movies.

I never worked in a video store once it switched over to dvd though I was already knee deep in my long term career.

The vhs porn section was always hilarious and of course the money maker lol.

I?ll never forget a hells angel like motorcycle gang coming into the store and they tried to recruit me for porn movies right there and then as in get in the truck we can leave now because the movie they were making needed actors that same day lol

Was probably mastered at 4K with 2K VFX

I loved the robots though but for me it was all about SW toys as a kid not BH lol

Its bad, and doesnt stand the test of time at all lol

But I love it, purely for the nostalgia and robots. And the story is actually pretty cool, creepy like jye said.

I want it in blu, the dvd is horrible! but am not part of the disney movie club or whatever that is

The Black Hole is one of my all time guilty pleasures.. I would argue that it has some great ideas and wonderful set pieces... Some truly inspired art direction.

Its goofy for sure but I still enjoy it..

Gonna have to get that Blu ray.

Its funny you say that, when I first saw Raiders that's exactly what I thought. That silly lava ball did stick with me as one of the better images. Not sure why lava ball was formed in the first place though.

UM because meteors are balls of lava in space? It never made sense in the movie but I always thought it looked cool as a kid. I like how they didn't feel the heat from it at all when they ran across the bridge. I got the blu ray in yesterday and it looks better than the dvd but not by a huge margin. There are no special features on it at all either. I also got 20,000 leagues under the sea and will watch that on Saturday. I always loved that movie too.
