I just hope the Desert Troopers and wall aren't being saved to take up a Spooktacular slot. Give them to us now!

But anyone remember the Officer preview? We got him, what, way back at Toy Fair and didn't see him offically previewed till about SDCC wasn't it? I remember he got snuck in again for the CCC preview. So even though we are seeing these troopers/wall it could still be several months before they go up. But I think we did get a Joe or two snuck in between the officer previews so that might not be a bad thing to happen again.

Duke went up on 7/31 and the Officer 7/10.

They will prolly offer the environment tomorrow I would think.

The fact that it looks exactly the same in every picture leads me to believe that it is not cloth. I could be wrong, but I think it is just a new texture they're putting onto the Flint beret.

Ah, so it was close though. But dang! That was 5 months of waiting for that Officer! I mean if its done enough for a preview shot why not get him out and pre-ordered? Hopefully these Desert guys and walls won't take as long

Yeah, I would think it would be a bit quicker on figures like that since its mostly a variant. Hopefully tomorrow and then have them say by Jan/Feb.

Actually the proportions look normal and SS looks like they're going for a realistic look. It beats the big heads they've been releasing on previous figures.

I could see them putting out those two before the year's up. They'd be on par with their quote of 6+ if they did. Plus I have a sneaking suspicion that the faces might be identical to the officer and trooper we already have, with different paint apps.

From the preview pics of Dusty, we see that the Desert Trooper comes with the Dragunov SVD and the Desert Officer comes with the AK-74 that came with the original officer. Looks like the only differentiating items are the desert camo and the goggles. If so, I'm waiting for Hastings for the Desert Trooper and Officer.

Yup, the trooper should have come with the Dragunov to begin with. I've outfitted my 3 troopers with them and the webgear.

Great, a third version of the cobra trooper and second cobra officer.

The Sniper wasn't a variant. It was a new figure in every regard.

I just realized they've really got a lot invested in this desert campaign...

There sure is a lot of talk about the troopers in the Dusty thread. Maybe the Desert Trooper, The Desert Officer, and the environment are all conversation-worthy enough to each have their own threads, now.
