I cut the thumb away from the fingers with a box cutter. Machete fits perfectly.

So is that the only way to get the machete in the hand? I'm not sure I'd go that far. I'll maybe get a spare hand to do that to if that's the only way.

Mine looks just like that. The arm feels real floppy. The left arm is a little better. I already contacted Sideshow about this and about the damage to my head sculpt. It sucks...I like the figure...but it's hard to enjoy it till I get these problems straightened out!

Sorry you got a bum arm too. So no one else? If it's just the three of us so far, then it's definitely a defect and they should send us a new body.

Lu....

No cutting thumbs here....I just put the machete in the hand before attaching the hand onto the arm...yes, it's a tight fit, but I rotated the machete handle as I put it into the hand. I like the look and I really like it that the machete is not going anywhere...hope that helps. Oh, and I'm relieved that your figure wasn't damaged from that crushing shipping experience. Arms are ok on the figure I got.

Here's another shot for the day...he's got a real "pulp" vibe to him so I went for some drama here, trying to capture some cool old pulp book cover "look"...

I'm absolutely thrilled with this figure!

Another shot...

Love your shots. I agree also, great figure.

Now wet those damn collars....................... he looks like Harry Hill............................

Then post some more up.

I swapped the stock hat with the Hot toys fedora. Looks so much better on him.

I know a couple of freaks have tried the hat swap but haven't been able to see the difference. If you have a minute, could you to take a pic of each hat on the SS head and put them in the same post for an easy comparison?

Fiddled with him a little. I love him. I agree that the price is too high, but he's still a phenomenal figure. Can't wait to get my mfisher belt, whip, holster set.

Maybe he's trolling Hot Toys...

A lot of confused and directionless trolls on facebook now Drax has been put up for PO.

Thanks, JB. I'll give it another shot. Love the shots, especially the lighting!

They've got some people fooled!

:lol I've seen people do that all the time, using Sideshow and Hot Toys interchangeably. I wonder if they really don't know!

In other news, I submitted a replacement request through the Sideshow website. Hopefully they'll respond favorably.

Hey Mad Old Lu so did you ask for a replacement body as well?

Hey Mad Old Lu so did you ask for a replacement body as well?

Just a body replacement. Unfortunately asking for replacements from Sideshow has become more of a chore than it should. They make you feel like they're doing you a huge favor by replacing a broken piece and make it very very clear that it's the only time they will do that for you for that piece. I don't want to come across as too pushy or entitled and I figure I can live with the crumpled box that's just going to end up in storage. I did include photos of the beat up box, though, to show that there is "probable cause" for the damage!

I think it's hopeful. Let's face it, Indy isn't flying off the shelves, so there is probably plenty of stock to find replacement parts. And it's always helpful when it's their own product they are finding replacement parts for. If it's a Hot Toys figure, then the chances for parts drops dramatically--the'll tell you that that's how all the figures are and maybe offer you a credit or a refund.

Here's my Indy with a few customizations. I touched up the blood and bruising on his face, also the blood on the back of the shirt, added a little blood on the right elbow, added a sweat effect to the face, arm and chest, touched up his stubble, chest hair, and eyebrows a little, and added some weathering to the shirt and pants (could've done a little more, but didn't want to overdo it). Also I dipped the hat in hot water, pinched it in a little on the sides and curved up the brim a little to give it a better fit. Then I ran it under cold water to stiffen it back up. Worked pretty good if you ask me. Very happy with how this figure came out. The overall sculpt, paint job and tailoring is pretty good, even without any customizing. Some pics:

Great pics and customising. What did you do with the shirt? Drybrush? Sponge app?
It looks really subtle, and nearly perfect.
