Yep that sculpt is ace man and galacti did a bang up job I remember starting an interest thread to try and get a Charlton Heston sculpt made from the film but not enough interest I was close thought but that and the nova may be my opportunity to upgrade my sideshow figures.

So, I came to the conclusion that adding LOTR to my collection was a mistake, so Ursus finally got a horse!

Hi All,

I haven't done any PotA dios for sometime and finished off a PotA 2 in 1 dio yesterday.

Recipe

Apes - are from NECA and are 7" scale, I got them into the poses I liked and then glued the joints and puttied them up as well as doing the fur on the heads so that it looked more natural. The figures were painted and weathered using Vallejo paints and pastel chalks.

Bases - are made from the Bandai kits and I used balsa wood for the sides. I used a mix of 40% spakilla and 60% dirt and added it to the base and left it to dry over night.

Once dry I drilled holes into the base where the grass was going to be glued. The grass is real grass and I dipped them into some Methylated Spirits and let it dry out for a few hours, once the grass was all dry I then painted them using Vallejo's Medium Olive and the small grass tufts are from a company called miniNatur.

Ron

oooh I finally got to see the pics. Can't seem to do so on my phone. Very nice Hemble! Bravo!

This is what I have been working on lately, ape related. It is a NECA Zaius headsculpt that I expanded to 1:9 scale (Mego scale--sorry still stuck in that world I am afraid. I keep getting sucked in by paying customers, so that's where I have been). Anyway, the glory of this latest project is that I used pressed leather to create the hieroglyphs on Dr. Zaius jacket. Gotta take better pictures. My phone sucks so I have to try and take better shots in the daytime.

I also reworked the hair, because the NECA Zaius just didn't do it for me. Great sculpt by the way, but the hair sucked butt.

Congrats on the horse Slik. Great figures Jessica and Ron. I always love seeing new work in this thread. Thanks for sharing.

I sculpted Virgil in 1:9 scale. I originally sculpted him in 1:6 and shrank him down but he just looked weird so I decided to just sculpt him. Today I am going to pour his mold and let that cure so I can make a few casts.

I will probably tweak his nose a little since I have access to a better tool at home. I used a toothpick and a needle as my tools but I need a tiny burnisher.

Didn't notice that the open mouth gorilla was the from the two-pack... I wasn't a fan of those sculpts but, with the added hair, you made him look great!

In case anyone's interested. Super 7's ReAction 3.75" Planet of the Apes figures were shown at NYTF. MonstersinMotion and BBTS have the first wave of six figures up for PO. I'm not really into this size figure, but I does make me wonder what would have happened to the NECA line if their first wave would have included these same characters. I know I would have been more inclined to get involved had it included Taylor and Nova. Oh well... guess we'll never know.
