Welcome to the party, pal! It's definitely a yippie kye aye moment when you unbox your first Figuarts. It makes a change to get something that does actually look as good in hand as it did in pics, sometimes better!

My collection is up to 114. My collection consists of S.H. Figuarts, Robot Spirits, Neca, Figma, Medicos. Really didn't know I was gonna be this deep into the Satr Wars line, but I couldn't help it. All I'm missing is the Unmasked Kylo, Trooper Captain and the original FO Trooper. So glad the next couple of release are all actual characters instead of troopers.

Totally mate, opening those figuarts boxes is like a miniature hottoys set, there is so much care put into the packages too. Not a twisty tie in sight.

Very excited for characters rather than troopers also, the Padme looks so good.
My only neca up to just a months ago was a Soul Reaver Raziel i had for years, then decided to get the Aliens characters plus Uncharted, Half-Life, 89 Batman. Terminater 2 to get next.
Once Mythic Legions ship next year i may need another entire display option lol.
But anyway, figuarts....love it

Well to be fair you're totally right, it's more or less the exact same process as pre-ordering from BBTS only without having to pay as much . I dunno, I know folks who are still reluctant to order from overseas shops, to them it's a 'process'.

There is a deference purchasing from Japan then from America. You have to learn a few things. I just started, and I made a few mistakes. Things that are different:

1) currency conversions. You can get an idea of what that currency conversion is by googling. But it wont give you the exact price. It really depends on who is converting your currency for you. Your bank may have a slightly different rate, and Paypal adds 2.5% I believe.

2) Extra charges. My bank charges 2% as an international fee (they told me it's Federal Reulations so all banks do, but I haven't verified that). If you use them to convert the currency it's 3% (2% for the international fee and an extra 1% for the conversion).

Also, if you use Paypal to convert the currency (for 2.5%) you still have to pay the 2% from my bank. Which means... avoid Paypal's currency converter.

3) Learning which sites charge when. Some charge when you purchase, some charge a few weeks later. I know I was thrown for a loop when I first bought something from HLJ, and they didn't ask for my payment information, but sent me an email requesting it the next day. It's just different.

4) learning about sites pre-order cancelaiton policy. It's often more restrictive than America.

5) Pre-ordering and currency conversions can be a bit of a gamble. The currency rate the day you pre-order can be better or worse than when you are billed months later.

That said, can you guys verify 1 and 2 for me? Is there a better way to do things? Like I said, I'm new to this, and these are some of the things that I had to learn. That doesn't mean I'm doing it the best way.

1) Some places will let you pay up front - I think Nippon-Yasan has that option? I tend to order from HLJ when I can, because of the convenience of being able to cancel impulse purchases, so I'm always playing the conversion gambling game.

2) One of my credit cards makes me pay a fee to convert the currency. The other doesn't. It might be worth looking into different cards if you're going to be buying a lot overseas.

I've placed only four orders at Nin-Nin and two of them became problems.
One of them was the confussion about SHF Anakin preorder and the extra head. You know, at first they did not show the pic of the bonus parts, but said that actually were incuded, later they uploaded the pic because I requested it, later they removed and said that some preorders would not come with those extra head, etc...
I've also cancelled preorder for SHF Qui-Gon Jinn, I don't trust they will even have the stock for all the preorders...
Their customer service response is the most awful I've seen around the world... so, right now I would never recomend Nin-Nin.

I'm going with MyKombini for SHF Exclusive preorders. I hope they are better than Nin-Nin.

Decided to go for it and ordered Han, got him in from Amazon today. I got the light eyed cataracts version but honestly it didn't bother me too much and isn't as noticeable as I expected. Still, I touched it up by darkening the eyes (they almost look like the other version now) and the eyebrows. Overall I'm so happy with this figure. I thought this would be as close to a dud as we would get in this line but it's amazing. I think the face is still a bit too wide in some way, shape, or form but it still looks a lot like Harrison Ford. I didn't expect to like him more than the other two I got over the last week (Farmboy Luke and Phase 1 Clone) but he's actually my favorite of the three. Now bring on Chewbacca!

Got my Han Solo today. Didn't get alot of time to check it out but from what I saw, it looks like he has alot of dirt on his face. Still an impressive figure overall. His gun strap can get loose though.

Mmmm, I'm torn on this one. If my 1/6 ESB Han bash turns out well then I may not bother with this. At the prices we're paying, the printing should NOT be wonky and if this is the shape of SHF to come then they could definitely become the 1/12 version of HT. They have to keep quality consistent if they're to stay ahead. Mafex are starting to catch them up, they're not there yet, but, the signs are there. Boba Fett showed what they can do when they really try.

Hey all, just curious, is anyone interested in custom SHF clones? Phase 2's are at a pretty good price right now and I've already been commissioned to do one shockie, so i wouldn't mind doing multiples at the same time while I've got all my kit out.

Also includes the commanders, potentially. Nearly figured out a way to do the kama and neck armour things. Also getting in a cast of the Airbourne trooper helmet, provided I haven't been screwed over by the seller as it's beginning to look like.


And on a related note, does anyone with the Bandai 1/12 clone kit have a spare macrobinocolour, or even whole clone head that they'd be willing to part with? Wouldn't mind paying a bit if necessary

So i got Jango recently but found his lower torso ball joint to be completely loose, so much that his upper half would flop around. To fix it i cut out some thin foam sheet to size, hole punched it and popped it in the hips. Problem fixed as the foam provides some much needed friction. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Getting a little worried about my Kylo unmasked from MyKombini. Not only has it taken over a month to get to me (the longest I have ever experienced shipping out of Japan) but the tracking number says it was delivered on Monday...I still don't have anything.

Fantastic...Security footage from my apartment shows that my package was stolen. Mykombini won't refund me or send a replacement.

Damn dude! That sucks!! Super unfortunate. Mykombini could at least give you a discount on a replacement figure.... then again I guess it's not their fault but still. Sorry to hear that man.
