That picture looks terrible.

It's all up to the reviewer on how he handles his figures, you don't remove a Hot Toys from the box with misaligned clothing and call it a terrible figure.

And the long lightsaber has been in the promo shots for like what? A year already?

I agree with you as far as the reviewer handling the figure. That's why I said the picture looks terrible, didn't say the figure looks terrible. I still can't believe how many people review figures that know nothing of how they should look, for example the HT ANH Vader. Simplest fix ever to raise the belt and cod piece up, yet so many pics and reviewers can't be bothered and leave the large gap which makes an awesome figure look not as awesome.

I was merely saying I canceled cause it didn't look to be enough of an upgrade from the ones I had. And yes, like you said, prototype lightsaber looked large.. So they could've just as easily realized the lightsaber was too long and fix it... They didn't. Why would I spend $50+ on something I don't like? I still want the MAFEX Rogue One Vader..... I think...

Maybe I got too annoyed by reading so many posts with baseless facts, but no. They are not using the same 3D face scanning prints as Tamashii Nations.

They are just using 3D prints for very small and detailed parts like the pupils and tattoos which other manufacturers have started doing eons ago.

What you are seeing is still prototypes for promo shots to mislead you.

And I'm pretty sure everyone and anyone can read the following line: *Photos are of a prototype and the actual product may differ.

Congratulations, you have learned to explain your knowledge instead of landing here insulting us all because we do not know what you know.

Thank you!

Mafex Kylo looks pretty good here:

Clearly needs to be futzed with, that image comparing to the figuarts version earlier was a bit ******** in that sense.

I think the most complains are about the final head painting, because the promo pics were absolutely amazing. Then, we really don't understand why the hell so many delays. I think the overal figure is good and imposing, but I don't know if pays the worth to spend on another Kylo version that doesn't have a so great incetive.
That said, If MAFEX were a little bit cheaper, I would purchase more of them. I still have hope on this one geting a noticeable price decrease.

Oh yeah, the head has nothing on Figuarts Kylo, but when its masked I definitely prefer it as it looks sorta like as shrunken down hot toy. But yea, Mafex can't really afford to charge as much as they do, but I imagine its due to their lower sales.

I received my Mafex Kylo. My first Mafex which I preordered the together with the new Mafex Vader. The figure feels flimsy and both hands that are attached on the figure drops at the slightest touch. The soft goods needs futzing of course...the belt needs to be just a tad smaller IMO. Headsculpts are good. The paint application on the unmasked head is ok. The worse offender is the skin tone. Makes him look like a Simpsons character and ruins an otherwise good headsculpt. The ignited lightsaber fits loosely in the figure's hands and the extra hilt for attaching to his belt doesn't really want to stay there either.

I kinda want the SHF version to compare. Tthe only reason I didn't buy SHF right off the bat is because I read they don't scale accurately with the rest of the SHF Star Wars line.

I just got another figuarts FO trooper as my other is back home in another state and I wanted two anyway. Man it is an amazing figure. The joints are so tight, everything is smooth and it just feels amazing in hand. This is the best figure I have ever owned. I STILL have not received my RO troopers but I hope the joints are firm like this one. The DT I received had much looser joints. The FO trooper feels like the high point of the line (as far as troopers at least). This has been a reminder to me that I will just make soft goods for Kylo and not bother with Mafex. Figuarts are just something special and at this point I care about their quality and articulation over scale, and they're even cheaper.

Just got my RO stormtrooper and deathtrooper and tbh the stormtrooper beats out the FO one for me, it just looks so good.

Awesome to hear! I can't wait!

What do you think about the Death Trooper? I'm still deciding if I should get one and also order the specialist when that goes up. I was leaning toward the model kit but I think the hollowness will bug me, and I don't feel like trying to fill it.

Deathtrooper is a nice figure, but his overall build is a bit too skinny imo, and the shoulder pads dont move as much as they should so end up sticking out alot. Still a nice figure though like I said.

The SAL slow boat has finally made it to the UK with my R1 figures. Got stung by customs though for £75.

My only issue with the DT (without having it in-hand) is Bandai's common screw-up -- helmeted visage looks too small to hold a human head. Iron Man syndrome.

Daredevil_19 shared some photos of his Mafex Kylo Ren on Instagram. Review should be up soon.

Is it just me or does the unmasked head look significantly better in his photo?

It does look much better, but that's almost certainly a function of digital filters and lighting, imparting a texture and depth to the plastic that isn't physically present.
