+1 on this.. They shouldn't force a reboot if they can't outdo the original.. They can just make sequels if they want.

I won't dismiss this too quickly, Aronofsky has the chops; but now I expect Robocop to make me want to kill myself. :horror

Could or Should Peter Weller and Kurtwood Smith Reprise their roles?? I think Kurtwood Smith can still be a great Clarence Boddicker.

Aronofsky hasn't made a bad film yet. If there was ever an opportunity for a remake to be better than the original. This is it.

I not sure anything can be better than the original, but I'm actually looking forward to Aronofsky's version.

"_____es leave" is one of the greatest movie lines ever.

Pretty much every line Clarence says is freaking fantastic. He's still one of my favorite movie villains of all time. I don't care what anyone else says. John Lithgow's character from Cliffhanger is pretty great too. "Walker, you bastad"

Love the original. Own the Criteron DVD. Still love this movie on every level. Only reason I am excited for a remake and i mean the ONLY reason: the director

I'm in the exact same boat as you.

Love the Criterion DVD - I would have the blu-ray if they had upped the video quality significantly. One of the greatest movies ever made in my opinion. And yeah, Boddicker is an outstanding villain "guns! guns! guns!", "well give the man a hand!" - so many great lines.

I wouldn't want to see him reprise his role in the remake, and I can't see the studio doing that - I'm sure they want to make this film their own, and part of that is always getting an entirely new cast. It would be very very cool to see him and Weller doing a cameo though.

I love all of Darren Aronofsky's work. He's definitely a thinker and doesn't ever put out fluff. Ofcourse everything he has done is pretty much a downer - Requiem for a Dream was one of the most depressing movies I have ever seen (and one of the most powerful)

I wonder if he's going to go deeper into the tragedy of the Robocop character. The man who became a machine, lost his whole family and who's only friend is his partner.

With Aronofsky at the helm it has restored my faith that they will do more with this movie than simply updating the special effects. I wonder if ED-209 will be in this one, or if they will create something entirely new. The guy is so iconic and badass that it's going to be hard to top him.

This is totaly unnecessary. Robocop is a top movie and does
not need remaking.
If they want to help the franchise they can start by remaking
Robocop3, what a peice of S^^T that was.
