Unforgiven and Gran Torino are not just great revenge flicks, they're also great redemption movies.

Shawshank Redemption... escape + revenge

I look at revenge and redemption as going hand in hand, when it comes to Unforgiven. You can't have a line like...

"Well, he should've armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend."

...and not be an amazing revenge movie.
