The Avengers - 8/10
Finally got around to seeing it again. Liked it more this time around.
Character screentime was handled well, plot movied fluidly, Action was great and in somewhat too much of abundance, lots of good snippets of funny dialogue, but it lacked of one key ingriedent that stops it from being the best... Heart/Emotion/Substance/Meaning.
The only moment of emotion and meaning in the whole film was Coulsons death and even that was somewhat forced.
Loki was a cool villain, stupid that he was basically a puppet & naive to think Thanos would give him all this power for nothing and let him rule the Earth. The Chitauri were designed well but didn't belong as they are Ultimate villains not 616, should've been the Kree imo.
Black Widow and Nick Fury were the lowlights of the castings and characterisations, Hawkeyes look was very meh, the only SHIELD character that shone was Maria Hill, the others were poorly handled.
The rest were good, though Cap's helmet was incredibly lame, Tony wasn't a huge ****** like in IM2 which was very welcome, Thor was sadly not given much character development. Hulk and Banner were the best imo
I know people praise the connectivity of the ACU, but it's not without plotholes like how did Thor get back to Earth so easily when it was a huge plot point that he couldn't get back to Jane in 'Thor' and How did Loki come to be in Thanos employ, at the end of Thor he was on earth or something in the scientist guys mind. Tony on the behest of SHIELD somewhat recruited Thunderbolt Ross in IH but he wasn't even mentioned.
So great action flick, though very formulaic with little surprises or substance.
(Spider-Man would've been much more useful in the place of Hawkeye and Widow, but since he's a story-driven street level character he wouldn't fit in at all with the straight-up action plot and global threat nature of the villains)

Yeah i know, but why couldn't he do it so Thor could go back to Jane sooner? Seemed an afterthought way of getting Thor back to Earth that disregarded the big deal of the destruction of the bifrost and that being the only way back in "THOR"

The way the fantastical nad Space elements were done gives me a good sense that Guardians will be done well.
Still hope that Iron Man isn't a team member as that doesn't make sense, but other than that i can't see them doing much wrong unless they station them on Earth.

They say she wasn't in harms way in the film.
The avengers could take place a day, a week, a year after the events in Thor.
Iron Man is a team member, it wouldn't make sense for him not to be, considering that the Stark Tower is gonna be the new headquarters.

Some cool action, other than that, generic action flick with a stupid (if there is one) plot. Still better than Life of Pi.
