:lecture.............if your good in bed, and you sleep with them before they see your collection, they usualy wont mind :lol. I think we have all had cicks run away cause of our collecting, not a biggie, there are plenty of girls that dont mind, trust me :wink1:, they are out there.

So when are you moving to No. Cali Weenie? :1-1:

I'd like to move SOMEWHERE, that's for sure! :lol

Ok, well it's happened to me on MANY occasions. Everytime I ask a girl out, and she comes over to my house and sees my collectibles they freak out, and practicly run out the front door.(how I lost my recent gf Lillie)

My question is how the hell are you supposed to find a girl that doesn't freak when she finds out you collect "dolls"??

I'm a girl...how come u don't ask me out?:huh

I put all my crap in another room and don't show any girls until after they get banged. :lecture

Such ******-baggery.......I feel dirty. :(

OK I will be serious on this thread.

Your collection is part of who you are, what you enjoy. Girls that don't except that part of you, are just not worth it.
My wife is very happy for me to display my figures in our bedroom. That tells me that she's the one, and always will be.

It has to work both ways though, so you need to watch the Twilight films with them, or take them to see a band you might hate

Or....just get a mail order bride from Russia like Dino did. :lecture

I'm almost 17 and my girlfriend already is 17 and she loves my collection of toys, 1/6th scale and masks.

She loves looking at it but often looks at me in a funny way when I tell her how much they cost. :monkey1

Some of my items cost more than the diamond necklace I gave her. :monkey1

However she liked my Rammstein LIFAD box more than I hoped...

love is for everyone:rotfl
gotta hand it to the germans.haha
i thought they went back to herzeleid and sehnsucht style with this release. :[

in hindsight...
However she liked my Rammstein LIFAD box more than I hoped...

i'll say take that as a hint.(wink)

This thread is awesome...

But really PVA, if a hobby (albeit an expensive and sometimes irrational one) is what turns a chick off you, then she's clearly the one with a problem. My shallow meter just went off the charts.
Now... someone who doesn't necessarily "like" what you do but is okay with it and doesn't let it mess with your relationship is mature and worth her weight in gold. Or plastic, depending on just how seriously you take your hobby :D.

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those that mind don't matter, and those that matter don't mind."

~~If the dumb biotches make fun of you because of your collection then you need to kick their arses to the curb...they're really just jealous because you'd rather spend money on that makes you happy instead of their useless arses. I've kicked a girl out of my place because she kept making dumb statements about my collection.

You are THE man, wookiee! :lecture :goodpost:

Amusing thread :rotfl

Thought I'd chime in here and say that I got into collecting figures through my girlfriend, who has a pretty sizable collecting of gaming and Futurama toys now. I'm slowly getting her into the Hot Toys figures. It won't be long now. :newangel

Anyway, my point is that there are women who collect figures, or think it's cool, or at the very least aren't going to run away from you after they see your collection. Hell, if someone is going to judge you on that, they're probably going to judge you on other more important things, thus they're probably not someone you want to be with.

Besides, when it comes to nerdy/geeky hobbies, collecting action figures and statues of pop culture icons isn't anywhere near the far end. Nerd is the new cool now, remember? I hear they're making popular movies about comic book heroes these days...

:wink1:

Woah TJ. you're much younger than i expected :lol

But to be fair, it might be best to keep your stuff in a separate room till they get to know you better.

And no, i dun mean after you've banged them. :D

The stuff we collect colours a person's perception of us; that is until they get to know us better.

good hunting.

I was 19 and heavy into Star Wars collecting when I met my future wife (she's about 2 months older than I). At the time, I was halfway through college, and I maintained a collection / home theatre room in my parents' attic (remember...still in college here). I'm talking Hasbro stuff dominating the room: 25+ vehicles, 100+ figures, lightsabers, etc. Throw in SW books, replicas, etc.

You can imagine how it looked.

Second date, and we end up at my house. It was a casual date, so we'd gone out to dinner with a friend of mine. Then the dumbass comes up with the great idea of "Hey, why don't we go watch a movie on your home theatre!"

To which the future Mrs. replied "Yeah, that'll be fun."

Oh crap. I wanted to smack my friend right then and there. Before I opened the door, I said something to the effect of "I'm a really big SW fan, and I collect a lot of the stuff. A LOT. Just so you're prepared."

Lo and behold, Michele later told me the moment she saw that collection, she did hesitate and think "Okaaay...why does he have all this stuff?"

But the key thing is that she didn't judge me for it. She was willing to look past it until she got to know me better rather than assume I was a loser. That was nine years ago, and we've been married for six.

So, AVP, hang in there. Not all girls your age are going to be as immature. You'll find one who accepts you and what you do without judgment or shallowness.

I have a similar story:

I was 25 and heavy into murder/dismemberment when I met my future wife (she's 1 year younger than me). At the time, I was working full time and killing part time, and I maintained a collection / trophy room in my parents' attic (remember...still killing part time here). I'm talking dismembered body parts dominating the room: 25+ skulls, 100+ legs, arms, etc. Throw in dead animals, porn magazines, etc.

You can imagine how it looked.

Second date, and we end up at my house. It was a casual date, so we'd gone out to dinner with a friend of mine that sometime helped me kill people. Then the dumbass comes up with the great idea of "Hey, why don't we go back to your house and go up in your parents attic!"

To which the future Mrs. replied "Yeah, that'll be fun."

Oh crap. I wanted to decapitate my friend right then and there. Before I opened the door, I said something to the effect of "I'm a really big Animal Planet fan, and I collect a lot of dead stuff. A LOT. Just so you're prepared."

Lo and behold, my wife later told me the moment she saw that collection, she did hesitate and think "Okaaay... 911!!!!"

But the key thing is that she didn't judge me for it. She was willing to look past it until she got to know me better rather than assume I was a psychopathic, serial killer. And by the time she knew the truth it was already too late to call the cops. That was 8 years ago, and we've been married ever since.

So, AVP, hang in there. Not all girls your age are going to be as immature. You'll find one who accepts you and what you do without judgment or shallowness. If not, that's what crawlspaces are for: to bury people.

Now, I would've had to have put my foot down about this because the smell and flies would've been a turn off for me. I'm just not into that. :(
