Heard about this on the news last night. Just watched the video. That cop is ^^^^ed. I gotta say, that football player really handled himself well given the situation.

Yeah I felt really bad for Moats. He came into Philly his first couple years and tried to play for the Eagles. He couldn't block worth a damn but is very quick.

But that is all beside the point. The guy clearly had his family in the car. What is even worse is when the nurses and security starts coming out to plead with the officer. :banghead

And yet he is on PAID administrative leave. So obviously they aren't THAT concerned about public perception.

Even better is that Dallas cops that get fired appeal and get the firing revoked. So there's a good chance that this guy will stay on the force.

football player or not..............that was wrong on a whole bunch of different levels..............moat's boot to that particular cop's ass = a good start to a 5 year long ass kickin.

Police officials have contacted the Moats family to apologize, asked that the ticket be dismissed, and posted a statement of remorse on the department's Web page.

BUT...at least the ticket was dismissed. Idiots, this is why people hate cops, because of idiots like this guy.

Officer apologizes after delaying Texans' Moats as mother-in-law died

DALLAS -- A Dallas police officer who drew his gun after pulling over an NFL player rushing to a hospital to see his dying mother-in-law apologized Friday for his actions.
The statement from officer Robert Powell was released through his attorneys and referred to his March 18 traffic stop of Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats in a hospital parking lot.
"I wish to publicly and sincerely apologize to the Moats family, my colleagues in the Dallas Police Department and to all those who have been rightfully angered by my actions," Powell said in the statement. "After stopping Mr. Moats' vehicle, I showed poor judgment and insensitivity to Mr. Moats and his family by my words and actions."

In the statement, Powell also said he has attempted to reach Moats but without success.

I am a fan of cops, but not when they do this kind of "pig" headed stuff. They guy ran a red light to be by the bedside of his dying Mother (in Law). That cop should have used common sense, and now I hope he is fired and ends up working at the local mall. What is ******. And to the credit of the NFL player, he didn't at any time pull out his "I'm a NFL player" card.

There is just NO ^^^^ING COMPASSION anymore! What a cocksmith that "Pig" was imo. After seeing that cops pic you gotta wonder how many times the "N" word was used at the dinner table!

Yeah i'm talking stupid but who cares. This angered me when I saw it last night on CNN. Hell even the anchor took offense.
