The body color just never seems to match the head closely enough on these slave Leias. You can do stuff like applying pastel dust and rubbing it in to the body, but it's somewhat tricky to do well.

I kind of gave up on this fig (which I think is also AC Play like above) and relegated it to behind Jabba. It's a fig that would need HT's full attention to make it a really stellar looking fig - it's just too complicated to get right as a custom.

Funnily enough (in the context of the Mr Toys V.2 "sideburns" issue,) I have two "hair tassles" in a baggie next to the fig that I never got around to gluing on the sides like the HT Leia figs have.

Are the worms glued to the face?

They look really odd because they stick out further than the originally sculpted hair, rather than blending into it. Like they were plugged into the sides of the head.

I can see what looks like a gap here:

I want to rip the things off her face!

That looks amazing! Is it also the ACPlay sculpt? Looks really good in that picture.
Yeah, ACPlay but with some mods to the upper hair and hairclips in the back. Nearly all of the outfit is Hasbro, weapons are Sideshow.

So is this worth getting? Head looks subpar to me but I do have a ROTJ sculpt to replace it with. I was really hoping for a new Boushh to pair with Jabba rather than this but HT has slowed down on OT figures so much.

I guess my main concern is a body that will look suitable to Leia. Are any HT bodies Leia size seamless or pretty close to it?

Thanks for sharing the pics. Not AS bad as some of the early shots but those mutton chops still look weird. I’d be interested in knowing if they can be removed as well.

Even if they can be removed, there will either be a small molded slot or a dried line of superglue - or both - clearly visible on the lower sides of her face.

hahahahahahahaha
I've just seen this in hand today and it didn't look anywhere near as bad as this. In fact after these pictures I was actually quite surprised that it was passable. Not sure what happened on this one!

I've got the Hot Toys Endor Leia, so I am going to detach the ponytail from this head then put the endor Helmet on it (never liked putting that helmet on the hot toys head, too damaging). The Endor figure will look fine with this head on it inside the helmet (which covers the problem sideburns).

Then I'll mod the ponytail to attach to the hot toys head (without causing any damage) and use that on the Slave Leia. I'll be repainting the gold sections. I think it is going to be pretty decent.

Body of choice will likely be the S17b.

Just received the set.

The sculpt isn't bad.

The hair strands are rubbery and you can pull them off the face. They leave a little paint/glue mark in one place, but once the strands are free and 'hanging' you can't really see the mark because it looks like a shadow from the hair.

It looks a lot better than having the slugs from The Wrath of Khan crawling over her cheeks. :lol

The skin tone isn't that far off the VeryCool body I had ready, so it'll work.

As expected, the bra is practically the same size as Hasbro's, though it's a little different in shape and a lot more pliable.

The black string is also fitted correctly on my version: a single piece attached at the ends to the two hooks at the top of the bra, so it loops around the back of the neck.

I don't like it though - it's too rubbery and the string for the neck is too long. I'm tempted to use Hasbro's because it's a more structured fit, less amorphous. The Mr. Toys version will need tying tightly and the neck loop shortened in order to train the rubber nature of it.

The Hasbro version seems to be more accurate since the upper gold arms on Mr. Toys are too long, no doubt because they opted for a humungous upper body. Compared to the real thing Mr. Toys' design is off in other areas too, so apart from missing the side arms the Hasbro kicks it into the long grass.

The body is from a VeryCool figure, which is good skin tone match. The exposed joints don't bother me, and there's always some trade off with near naked figures.

The bra is from the Hasbo set with the threads replaced with black.

The most awkward thing was getting the skirt belt to settle properly onto the hips. It's a tight fit and has to be eased down the body, but doing so makes the skirt rise above the metal plate, and I think the only way of keeping it behind would be to glue it.

Once the glue's broken the hair strands function just as on the original Hot Toys. They're rubbery and a little posable.

Of course, she's not screen accurate in the throne room with weapon from the Sail Barge, but it gives her something to do. lol

Thanks for the update Asta, nice to see hear and see it's workable. Perhaps I'll eventually go back and get a Hasbro version too. Want to see how it looks with the bodies I bought cheaply around the time this set was put up. I got two so I could put one in front of Jabba and one with the weapon on for the Sail Barge look.

Looks like mine have made it to US customs.

I'll probably get shot down for this, I think the headsculpt is passable and I actually like it. Sure the sideburns are a bit freaky but honestly the headsculpt just isn't that bad, especially at a slight angle. She'll certainly be just fine posed in front of Jabba, like in Asta's pics up there. For the price point she'll more than suffice.

That looks nice, Asta! What body specifically is it? I think it has some decent advantages over the seamless ones, and the height is nice!

I agree. I'm just gonna pluck those headworms off, fill the holes if needed, and touchup the paint. Won't be hard.

Mine is at customs too! Looking forward to it. Giantoy always does me right.
