To be honest... this a rhetorical question that really has no answers. We are just so used to seeing an actor in a certain role, or it made such an impact, that we can't imagine anyone else in that role, but if a different actor had originated the role, we would probably think the exact same thing about them.

Thats why I chose Kilmer as Morrison because he had the look and he sang most of the songs. I don't think most actors could have pulled it off. But I know where your coming from
