Hi guys ( & gals).
I am FRANK-Einstein, and am new to this awesome site!
My Feature Wall is made from styrofoam.
These walls are 2" thick white styrofoam.
I used a jigsaw to cut the openings and then
used a hotwire to make the grooves.
You don't want to make them too perfect,
or it will look too contrived and look a little fake.
I took a piece of 1" thick (blue or pink) styrofoam and laid it over these openings and cut a u-shape for the extending brick edge around the opeining.
I dragged a hotwire over the areas to make the proper grooves.
You can also use a router set at a shallow depth.
Now comes the fun part!
Take 2 squirt bottles.
- Fill one with nail polish remover, lacquer thinner, etc.
- Fill the other with water.
-With a distance of approx. 10-12" away, LIGHTLY mist a small area
and within a second you will see a perfect "brick / stone" texture appear.
Keep the water handy...this will help stop the texturing process if you overdo it.
Then just paint it with a few different shades of black, grey, "rust". etc.
Love to see your walls if you make some!
Here is a link to my YOUTUBE VIDEO of my collection.
It was taken last year and since then have added over 14 full sized busts, 4 premium format figures, and a few lifesize displays with wax hands, transparent resin, glass eyes, etc.

Look at my other videos...you can see the slideshow of the walls being built step by step.
and here's a link to my Photobucket gallery.
I'm currently uploading my entire collection on photobucket, so follow me if you want to see the weekly updates as I complete the final 2 walls of my MUSEUM!
