is the platform shelf from ikea pretty much stable? did u use an L bracket or something to keep it up

No it was no need to, the shelfs are very stable. You can actually put statues on it. What I'll do Is post up the instructions for you to get an ideal of how it's set up. You can check out me on Ytube at willosaurus1, I'll be uploading the new one on my den shelf by Tuesday.
