Re: MarfMaster's Mix

That Cobb is absolutely sick. I'd sell my dear old grandma to get one of those. Seriously nice, probably the best custom I've ever seen. Best one I've seen in a very long time anyway. Congrats, you must be proud of that bad boy

Thanks MGM, I feel very lucky to have snagged one of these sculpts. It really is a piece of work!

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

This figure is insane. My crappy pics do it no justice, I need my DSLR camera yesterday :slap

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

That is a great figure. I sometimes wonder if I need an Ironman figure..

Which Mark is that?

Thanks Mag, if you're a fan of the movies at all, you really do :exactly: That's the Mark IV, and it really is something else...

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Congrats on IM; Marf and you are right in person, Off the Hook

Thanks big C! Yeah, my single biggest frustration is not being able to convey what my collection looks like to my eye in pictures. I'm hoping to get a DSLR camera with my tax return though, then it's updatin' time :yess:

looks great on blue background, congrats!

Thanks Hyper :hi5:

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Well, I'm not a huge fan of anything Marvel, but the IM figures look so fantastic.

This figure is up for preorder at BBTS:

Very tempting...

Are the other Marks crazy expensive now?

Well the Mk 1 is soaring in price, Mk 2 is not quite as bad, but still expensive, and the original and BD Mk 3 can be had close to retail. It's worth noting though, that every Mark before the Mk IV, save for the Mk 1, looks extremely dated when next to it, in my opinion...

So would you say that the Mark IV is "definitive"?

I will say that I kind of prefer the design of the Mark 1...

Thanks Darth :)

I would definitely say the Mk IV is definitive :exactly:

The Mark 1 is a very visually interesting figure with all the "moving" parts and such, but when I saw all of the Iron Man figures rolling out, I made a decision to only have 1 on my shelf, and for me, that is the Mk IV all the way.

Just want to clarify. I meant Mark 3. :slap

However, I just did some comparing, and I'm starting to lean towards the Mark IV. :rock

What do you mean the others looks "dated" compared to the Mark IV?

These pics, credit Jedsterand and amusedjester, do a good job of showing how far HT has come with the IM line since the first movie. They also show that there's very little difference in the overall design of the Mk III and Mk IV.

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Boy, there's things I like about each. I like how slim the Mark III looks, but it does seem a bit toyish compared to the Mark IV.

How do they compare in terms of articulation/pose-ability? And is one a tougher construction?

All I know is that I don't like the Mark VI. A triangle chest just seems wrong.

Re: MarfMaster's Mix

Mk.3s - Crap
Mk.4 - Grail

Thats all you need to know, unless you want a discolored rubber diaper on your Mk.3.

4 Improved every single aspect of the armor, from streamlining, to paint, to material, to overall look of a guy in a suit, Stark sculpt, articulation, everything.

Mk 3. the helmet is shaped wrong, the shoulder pads are huge and goofy, no articulation in the torso, ball jointed legs, rubber groin, bulky chest.

Oh and my own preferance was for the 3, but after seeing both in person, I would have been pissed if I bought the 3.
