Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

He's signed up for some project I think it's a series of some sort they are willing to wait him out until he's availble and they are renegotiating distribution rights at the same time

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

Nothing wrong with Craig, they just need better scripts/stories. Casino Royale was far and away the best of the bunch. Tighter scheduling would also be ideal - WTF is the guy doing until 2018?

Spot on. Quantum wasn't all that great, but Spectre was so bad... I rolled my eyes several times, especially with Christoph Waltz' Blofeld. I like him as an actor, but that was the lamest Blofeld, ever, and that back-story: "Oh, boo hoo, Daddy brought someone else into my home, now I'm going to kill my father, and spend the rest of my life accumulating billions of dollars to become a megalomaniac serial killer." Give me a break. Blofeld for the pansy-ass, touchy-freely generation.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

It did compared to skyfall which was the first bond to hit 1 billion but the truth is it came close at 8 hundred million and it was far higher than casino and quantum, in fact this is why they almost are close to locking in Craig for another one. Proven box office draw, they want him so bad they are delaying the release of the next one until 2018 to convince him to sign.

Even though they think his public bashing of the role and movie the week before cost them tens of millions of dollars.

In any case apparently the guys who are neck and neck if he does not accept the role is Jack Houston and Tom Hiddleston

Terrible choices. Looks like I'll be done with bond for a long time if Craig doesn't come back.

Quantum was forgettable at best. I agree on all counts on Spectre. Casino Royale was fantastic. Skyfall was also very good.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

Amazing Craig. How'd you do the eyes?

Thanks, man. The honest answer is just practice... There's literally no secret to it. Just doing them over and over again. I'm a stickler for making sure they're the right shape. That's the most important thing.

Yeah I know it has a lot of fans here, but Spectre just didn't work for me much at all. Just a meandering, by the numbers Bond adventure with Craig frankly looking pretty bored throughout. At least in Quantum there was a real drive and passion in the character as he sought to avenge Vesper's death.

Craig was obviously fantastic in Casino Royale and Skyfall, but by this point I'm very ready to see a new actor take on the role.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

I'm in the monitory who quite liked spectre but totally agree that craig phoned it in.

The latest word is that Jack Houston almost has it. But a few months ago it was Jamie Bell who apparently has fallen off of the map,

I've learned not to judge a book by the cover after Craig and the only guy who i think was truly a bad bond was lazenby and Moore after the third movie he did only because he was just too old looking, Moore was still a great bond.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

Clive Owen would have made a great Bond. Alas he's to old now. As for him being box office poison, it's not like Craig's movies outside Bond are breaking any records.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

I also think they need to get rid of Purvis and Wade. They've been writing Bond scripts for to long. Time to bring someone new to freshen things up a bit.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

I really liked spectre. I personally disagree that Craig reined it in. I felt like he finally come into the role and got a sense that he really has cemented it as his own. He was cool calm and collected. And very suave.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

I enjoyed spectre a lot more than the over hyped/rated skyfall and thought craig was excellent as always. I do think it's time he moved on and that the bond franchise gets a reboot with a younger actor. As for hiddleston, bell, turner, huston, norton and hughes they're all just the 'flavour of the month' as they try to promote a new fim/tv series. For me i'd love to see fassbender do a bond trilogy..

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

I'd like henry cavill, who I believe was considered at the same time Craig got the role, even though he can be a little wooden.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

In my opinion skyfall is overrated and spectre is underrated.

And both pail in comparison to casino royale.

Casino royale and goldfinger are great movies.

Spectre, skyfall, the spy who loved me, goldeneye, dr. No, live and let die, on her magisties secret service, from Russia with love and you only live twice are great bond movies, it's a big difference.

The rest have their moments, all bond movies do, but fall short.

I agree. If you compare SPECTRE to Die Another Day, I think SPECTRE is the better of the two. Compare it to Goldfinger or Thunderball, it falls short. But I still enjoyed it.

I also really like Skyfall. It's full of plot holes, but it's an enjoyable Bond movie and the acting is top notch.

Those are just my preferences.

Re: Custom JAMES BOND THREAD

Jack Huston looks a little bland for Bond somehow, he doesn't really have anything distinguishing about him. I like the idea of Aidan Turner, he has the right look for a tux, just suave enough, and when it mattered he would look like he could kill you. Poldark has ensured that the ladies will love him, another big tick for Bond. He has the build, yeah, I really think he could work. But he's Irish you cry, well, so was Brosnan! Thing is though, Bond in this day and age is a tough call, he'll always be in the wake of Bauer, Bourne, Jack Ryan and Ethan Hunt. Bond may have pretty much created the genre, but, now they have to compete in it and you have to wonder if it has the legs anymore.

Bond will always be better than those posers.
