Ok I'm trying to source a good painter who is willing to repaint a hot toys Iron Man silver centurion to blue (like the blue steel figure but without the horrible silver bald cap on the helmet). It's a simple request but I would do it myself if I knew what paints, process I could use to do it. Plus I want it to be really good so I can stand it next to my red silver centurion confidently.
Is there anyone in the UK that can do this?
How much should I be looking to pay?
Any links to places I can get help doing it if I can't find a painter?

Here's some examples of the style I'm looking for this kind of blue

So far not much luck in finding anyone. Heck I'd try and do it myself with a little advice from someone if all else is lost. But would be nice to find someone who has had experience with this before and can at provide some tips as I have never repainted over such an expensive figure before.

Get an airbrush and do this.

You don't have to use the brand of paint in that tutorial. The basic process is pretty much primer then (optional) gloss block, then silver/chrome, then transparent blue. Of course use masking tape to mask off parts that you don't want to paint. Stick with acrylic paints like Tamiya or Vallejo.

Thanks I managed to find a guy on FB who is willing to take on the job and he'd be a darn sight better at it than I would. However I am going to be painting more than one (next one will be green I think) so it would be good to do this myself in the long term. I have painted stuff before like a hulkbuster and a 1/9 model (it went wrong) but the theory was solid.

Excellent. By the way you were also recommended by someone else on FB. Fullmetal 1/6 customs I think thats why I decided to go with you ) if its a great paintjob though I would prefer to get someone who knows what they're doing to do it so they chances are I'll still need your services )
