I don't think so... the R6 Astromech is a pretty old model... probably got introduced around the time when Return of the Jedi took place in the Star Wars Universe but never seen on film.

And she could do droid-speak in a female tone due to have been damaged and not repaired quite right.

R6s will, in some small part, be in Episode 7. The panel discussion at celebration showed 2 R6 domes for use on the back of xwings.

I'd rather not have Sideshow go to deep into astromech but a choice of different R series would be nice. This being said, a clear dome R3 series would have my preference.

Nah, looks too similar to the R2 but I would like to see a R9 Astromech somewhere in the future from Sideshow Collectibles.
