Yep, I believe they were originally going to do a 2 movie prequel..but then it became the non-prequel science fiction film set in the Alien universe ...

I don't think it'll be two films now, but oh god that would be incredible..

Surely the sequel to Prometheus would be Alien.

There was meant to be a 2 part movie. When it was an Alien prequel. Now, all though it is an Alien Prequel it is more of a Space Jockey movie. So the goal posts have changed a bit. The current story makes it look like they are killing two birds with 1 stone. 1 Movie that introduces the Jockeys and sets up Alien. As opposed to the original 2 parter which would be the Jockey movie then the Alien setup.

Don't know if many of you have seen IGNs scene by scene commentary of the Prometheus trailer. A few interesting points.

I'm pretty confident in believing these guys A) have never seen any of the Aliens movies and B) should stick to Star Wars fan fiction or whatever.

There is no deification of humans. The one advantage of xenomorphs is that they can incubate in any type of animal.

BTW clearly no Aliens in Prometheus but some new xeno creatures created by the same biotechnology.

Jon Spaihts wrote it as a strict prequel to Alien. Lindelof came up with this 'its own story' crap, which Scott came out and refuted last month. It's a bleeding prequel.

They deemed it "not a prequel" to placate the idiot Fox execs. If it were a "prequel" to Alien the Fox exec's would have forced there idiot ideas into the script...

To be honest, I would not want a figure of the jockey, I much rather have a statue of him in the chair from SS.
