Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

He's here and he's awesome! !

Nice set up Double J. I'm Digging your lighting actually. Struggling/learning/delving into lighting methods for past month. Migraine.

Thanks. The lighting is a 12" led strip from home depot. I put Reeve up on the base for now so he doesn't look too short next to the big man :)

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I picked up my Supes from the post office! I am utterly blown away by this figure. The sculpt, the suit, the proportions are spot on. The cape is weakest part of the package, but it is really solid by Hot Toys standards. I think that they did a fantastic job with this figure!

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

However, I did have an issue with the suit. The stitching on the the right thigh is all jacked up out of the box! :gah: It's a fantastic figure. But that qc issue is something that I can't unsee. Would a small blemish like this warrant sending Sideshow pics and ask to have it replaced or fixed? Anyone have any similar experiences?

Not sure if mine is the same, but i noticed the seam was more towards the front than the back. I tried twisting it, but I think its glued down at the bottom under the boot.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Mine will be here tomorrow. Can't wait!

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I noticed the grabber on the stand had foam in the inside of it(attached to the plastic)
I also remember members here saying that the grabber damages the suit, and that they were going to add foam
I wonder if their grabbers had the foam already

Curious of the same thing. I want to use that stand, but not at the risk of damaging the suit.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

My waist grabber has foam on it. Supes has been in flight mode for a couple days now. I'll check him tomorrow to see how deep the impressions on the suit are.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

The waist grabber/flight stand does have foam, but it is a thin layer that is moulded to the pincers. You can probably pad the sides with thicker foam so the suit won't get pinched.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I received some Headplay bootleg headsculpts in the post today.
I have checked all the moulding marks on both the HT and HP ones. They are total recasts of the HT one, down to all the flaws and imperfections. I have said this before but i wouldn't be surprised if HT over-orders their heads from whomever they contract to mould their parts, then sell any overspill to the bootleg head sellers, who then just get them painted and sell them on Ebay.
Here are some comparison pics. HT one is always on the left in these images:

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Taken at face value(No pun intended), and viewed on it's own, it's a very good replacement for the HT one, or as a head for a custom.
There is some nice, subtle shading on the shaving areas, and the eyes even have veins, just like the HT ones.
Hair is a *little* lighter than the HT, but 5 minutes with a can of tamiya paint will fix that.
I'd say 9 out of 10, considering the cost saving with this one. At $32 shipped, it's a no brainer if you want to make a Cavill custom on the sheap.
