Not a fan of the robes. Looks like the same material used on Batman's cape and we all know how that turned out. Dome and mask look good but a little giraffe necked. Hopefully it's lens distortion.

I think there is some distortion there in some shots the mask looks elongated. The photos look good, but it's not making me run to order at the same time. SSC did a good job on their rotj vader.

Not surprised by the price considering today's ranges. It looks fantastic, has light-up and sound function (although I never use those) and it's probably the world's biggest entertainment license, which doesn't come cheap. I'll be picking it up for sure, but may hod for waitlist or extra reward points. Right now I'm looking forward to Luke and Leia reveals which hopefully will come soon.

The irony of grousing about the price, is that had Sideshow done a third Vader right now, it would be exactly the same price (or more), and they still wouldn't have gotten everything right.

I'm not looking forward to Luke and Leia unfortunately. I'm fully expecting them to come out like Solo and Obi Wan and Chewie, ie varying degrees short of expectations. I'm going to cut my losses on the SW cast by not 'upgrading' my SS Vader and Tama 3PO.

Yeah, I really hope they don't screw them up. Luke especially is an almost certain buy for me.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Still six month ago i didn't realize that there were differences on the suit of Vader between the movies. I'm not a specialist neither a Vader " taliban" even if he was my favorite character. But when i discovered the first pics of this HT Vader, something sound wrong to me. I don't know, it's certainly a great figure but it seems that this Vader came out of a comic book and not a movie. Like some of you already said, it is too perfect and idealized for a ANH version.
I always wanted just one Vader so i'm very happy with my SSC Deluxe adding that i always loved the ESB/ROTJ version.
Easy pass for me...

Yeah,I agree I'm happy with my Sideshow Deluxe Vader. The HT Vader is good, but it's not like" I'm gonna sell my Vader for the Hot Toys one" I also think that the paint apps on the SS are better ( glossy)

You should be relieved that it isn't a two pack.

Obi-Wan's lightup saber and "closed eyes" head would have made that 2-pack $600, easily! That'd be a hefty NRD.

I don't know, but I'd think that SS would use the nrd fees to cover unrecoverable cost like freight charges to import toys that get cancelled three days before it ships! I always thought that we collectors who've taken some liberty wih the "cancel anytime" policy created the need for the nrd honestly.

Was expecting a 2 pack with Ben. DiFabio is right, easy 600.00 sticker price. HT's Pricing is really forcing me out the not buying any more door. Near 300.00 for one figure is nuts, even with voice and lit saber. Really sad. SSC and Ht's are going to price themselves out of business.

Doesn't AEC charge a cancellation fee if you don't cancel after a certain number of days after your order is placed?
