This Thor was nothing but a parody of the character. It felt like ridiculous slapstick comedy, so no I don't consider my opinion dumb.

Well you are certainly entitled to the opinion that your opinion isn't dumb. I can appreciate consistency.

Sorry, but that's a dumb take on this, if you think he hates playing Thor. If anything, his arc since Ragnarok has rejuvenated his interest in Thor, and may be the reason why it's possible we'll still have more of him in the future MCU.

He spent four movies playing the exact same character and he was ready to quit until they finally made Thor one of the most interesting of the main Avengers.

I see so many people walking away from Endgame with the notion that "fat Thor" was just a visual gag for some laughs. And while they definitely played fun with it, Thor's physique is the ultimate statement on how low he's been brought by recent events.

In IW, we saw him on the brink; he'd lost his mother, father, brother, best friend, had to kill a sister his father had lied about, lost his home and nearly all of his people. He went on a last-hope quest to kill Thanos, and failed at the crucial moment. And THEN, they hunted Thanos down to reverse the snap, and THAT failed too.

He was broken. He had given up. That the actions of Thanos had crushed the spirit of even the mighty Thor was a testament to how devastated everyone was. But it's when heroes are down that they have the most interesting opportunities to grow and to change. There's nothing fun about watching a character just always win.

You can dislike Thor's representation in Endgame if you want, but dismissing it as simply a "gag" is a disservice to a fantastic performance by Hemsworth over the past three movies as the Avenger that has lost the most, and in a way has the most redemption to gain by finally defeating Thanos.

TL;DR= Endgame Thor is day 1 preorder for me if they do it.

While he’s certainly not at his traditional size, I can’t imagine Hot Toys not making a final battle Thor. He’s a must to recreate the ending battle sequence. And he was just really awesome with both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir. They could give him thicker arms, a bigger body and armor (no big belly, just overall bigger torso and even legs perhaps). Then of course a new head sculpt.

exactly CupCakeMcGraw. He went through more than any other character in a very short amount of time. Right after he blows up his home, he finally thinks his people are safe. Then Thanos happens. He kills his brother and best friend in front of him and kills half of his people. He then gets a shot to stop Thanos and fails. He then gets another shot and it’s too late. He kills Thanos and gets zero satisfaction. Dude hit rock bottom and I don’t blame him at all. I’d like to see someone else not be affected as dramatically. It won’t happen. I think after his talk with his mother she lit a fire under him, and also still being worthy of Mjolnir. If we see him again in Guardians 3 he will be back in shape

Super bummed about this, went thru the checkout process and and hit the final place order button, and instead of an order confirmation, I got a curious “shopping cart empty” message. I guess someone must have been a little quicker on the draw and snatched it as I was checking out! Damn lol. Got on the waitlist, hopefully it converts. Kicking myself for waiting so long.

I loved EG Thor and found it to be a believable arc for his character while also setting up

reasons for him to hand over power to Valkyrie so we can see more Thor adventures in future movies. And Chris Hemsworth is a much better comedic actor than serious and I think he is figuring that out as well. Also thought his hair/beard especially looked badass at the end.

Anyway, pleased I got the IW figure used off eBay a few months ago for only $200. Hopped on the waitlist pretty quickly to hopefully get a second for his alternate display.

I’m so glad I ordered this when I did. I did not realize I would like it as much as I do. I did decide to part out all of the parts used to make the Thor from the beginning of the movie. Eyepatch is bare arms etc. As all I wanted was how he looked at the end of the movie with storm breaker. This figure puts my old avengers Thor to shame. Just wish I could get the lighting effects on his chest. Oh well still looks cool.
