Just got home. Really fun week seeing all these movies but this movie was outstanding. Full thoughts after I've slept for those that care.

Just got home with my 7 years old son from the midnight showing. Awesome movie, wish it was a little bit longer.

Just got back as well, and like Josh, I'm pretty out of it.

Just a quick final thought: I'm really sad to see the series end. I thought this finale was great. I will admit that I think the hype outshines the final product, BUT I really thought it was a fitting end and you definitely get closure on the last 10 years. There were some unanswered questions that Part 2 didn't address, which was a little shocking for me. Thanks to my friend who went with me and actually read the books, I got those answered though.

All of that aside, I thought it was on par with all of the previous installments and really enjoyable. If you've seen the others, this is a must for theaters. Definitely worth the money. Be forewarned: the crowds are rowdy. .

Just got home about an hour ago. Fighting the DSL to get back online but got here to tell ya that I watched The Deathly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 tonight at the theatre in 2D. 10/10. Probably one of the absolute best experiences of going to the movies in my lifetime. Right up there with Star Wars, Empire, Batman and TDK. Seeing this film the way Rowling intended as one whole story where you don't have to wait six months to a year to get the conclusion is not just necessary its really the only way to EXPERIENCE it. The crowd I saw it with were all fans, so into it and so loving it. Everything worked so well and I felt that the few things that didn't work in Part 1 worked perfectly here because you get the emotional and spiritual resonance in the form of a complete story with a beginning, middle and ending all in one sitting. And what an ending. The revelations, the battles, the denouement--all were there. And the epilogue was beautifully done. Its been a week of Potter for me watching Philosopher's Stone all thru Half Blood Prince on bluray and to culminate it tonight with all of The Deathly Hallows completes the circle. Next to Tree of Life, with all its numinous and esoteric meanings, is The Deathly Hallows as my two favorite films of the year. Now I gotta go to bed.

I can't surely be the only one who was disappointed? Sure, the movie had some amazing moments and I think things were handled beautifully at times. But there is so much that was left out of this film, so much that I thought would be in it. I'm not going to lie when I say I haven't enjoyed the directors take on it since he's taken over. I feel (and you can jump all over me) that he's taken such a liking to the Harry and Voldemort part of the story, and forgot that this film was also about Magic.

Why don't we get to see more wand battle? We just see Tonks, Lupin and Fred dead. We don't get to see them actually fight. We don't see Grawp, we don't see Kreacher and the other elves fight..which okay, I can understand that a tiny bit since they hardly showed the elves and left a bunch of them from the books completely out of the movies. So fine, I will try to accept that. But I mean...where was the magic? There were a few moments with Kingsley, McGonagall, a bit of Bellatrix. Etc. Voldemort wasn't even there for Bellatrix's fight/death. If you can honestly say you feel that there was plenty of wand battle and it was handled as greatly as the book, and nothing was left out that wasn't important to see, then wow. But I can't. I am so sad about this and if I was J.K....I'd be a billionaire, but besides that...I would have been like. Um, what? What happened to this, and to that...So anyways, that's my rant. Way too little wand battle and some great scenes left out.

With that. I thought a ton of it was very enjoyable and it's the best one in a long time for enjoyment. But definitely not for getting it right...FOR ME.

They handled Snape beautifully. And the part where he holds Lily when she's dead...wow. Just..wow. Snape has been my favorite throughout this whole thing, and it just really tore me up. I didn't cry, but I could feel his pain.

What you mentioned as being left out doesn't surprise me. Can't say I am terribly disappointed either since none of that was in the book either.

I knew some things would get left out. But I think it did some characters a disservice, and also..me! lol. I still cannot wait to see it again because you always get more out of it when you watch it 2+ times. But this movie (all of em really) would have been handled differently if I had been the director. Sadly, I'm not.

There is a part that didn't happen in the book. I could tell you but I want you to experience it. But I think that it worked in this scene better. And makes a bit more sense. When you see it, we'll talk. Just don't go in expecting too much. It's regarding Snape.

Helena Bonham Carter was friggin amazing playing Hermione as Bellatrix. Just wow. Is there anything that woman can't do! I <3 her.

First off having never read the books I can't get upset at stuff left out, but I will say that I tend to understand why changes are made. Only a couple changes in LOTR really bother me so I'm not one of those fans.

I really enjoyed the movie. It had really everything in it for me that I could want out of this series. You had plenty of action, character development, and imagery.

The sequence going into the vault was cool with the dragon getting the item in there. It was simple action but it worked and how things flowed made you feel as if things were getting to the end. The double cross by the little turd with them was well played so I didn't mind seeing him bite it in the end.

Then you get into the sequence of them getting into Hogwarts which is when things really pick up I think. Potter stepping out and challenging Snape was cool and showed for me that Potter meant business and was willing to risk it all then and there. Though, I will say seeing McGonagall step up and whoop some ass was totally great. I loved seeing her character break the old teacher mold and show some _____.

You've got Potter finding the last item but the moment in there that I liked. Him saving Malfoy was cool and showed the type of character for good that HP was. One of the big character changes you get during this sequence is Longbottom who is one of my faves and I loved seeing him come into his own. Stepping up and not just being the dorky guy that's friends with Potter.

Snape was handled amazingly I thought. He went from a character I kind of liked to disliked and at the end one I really respect. Finding out how much he cared about Lily and Harry really was quite nice to see. You find out that he was a truly great character and had the best of intentions the entire time.

The entire battle sequence from start to finish was awesome. It was as good as I could have hoped for based on what spoilers I knew. I didn't mind they moved one death around it made sense for the moment. Then you get Harry and Voldemort final battles and those are awesome. Seeing Harry get the resurrection stone and just dropping it messed with me for a second. Though, I get why he did it before giving of his own life. Then after him being used as a way to try and break spirits only to mess up the plans was quite enjoyable. Finally, you get the final duel between the two and seeing Harry rid the world of evil was great.

I understand some won't be happy with the changes. I wish we would have gotten more from Ginny Weasley in this series. However, with movies you have to make cuts and you can't give them the ample time you can in books. The deaths of some in the final movie while I would have liked to see just can't all be shown.

For me, it was a great film. I just think one thing shouldn't have been left out. If it hadn't, this movie would have been as epic as I could have hoped. But I also think that it was done beautifully. So many touching moments. And man, the vault scene was great.
