I'm nervous about this one, especially after the way the statue looked "in person" (Pretty bad)...I'd actually prefer they use that Obi-Wan headsculpt on a bust of him from ROTS...

The only bust I have on order is Aayla Secura....

Gentle Giant apparently has nobody around to proofread their blog entries, so I volunteer.

For many months[,] rumors have been flying around with nothing able to be confirmed or denied about this mysterious piece….until now!

Gentle Giant is excited to announce the Obi-Wan Kenobi in Clone Trooper Armor Mini Bust, a companion piece to the similarly named statue released in January 2007.

We’ve taken one of the greatest Jedi Master’s [sic] out of the movies and transplanted him into an outfit he was only seen in, in the world of the animated Clone Wars series. [The] Obi-Wan Kenobi in Clone Trooper Armor Mini Bust has a total edition size of 5000 pieces and stands 6.5 inches tall and 7.5[ ]inches tall with lightsaber.

There will be multiple options [by which] collectors will be able to acquire Obi-Wan for their collections.

The first option is through Gentle Giant Ltd. directly. Since this piece is a companion piece to the statue, 2500 pieces will be allocated for this purpose. Anyone who has purchased the Obi-Wan in Clone Trooper Armor Statue can redeem through this method for purchase at $25, plus shipping/handling. After the NY Toy Fair, we will be sending out en [sic] e[-]mail and posting on our website with specific instruction and guidelines for redeeming through GentleGiantLtd.com.

The other 2500 pieces will be spilt [sic] between our domestic and international retailers and be sold at [the] full retail price of $55.

GentleGiantLtd.com will also have a small quantity of the Obi-Wan mini bust available (of the additional 2500 pieces) to purchase for those who do not own the statue but would like to add it to their collection. It is better than the statue. Not perfect but I don't think its THAT bad either.

Not that thrilled with this one. The paint apps look a little sloppy. Especially compared to the preproduction shots.

It's disappointing. After the statue fiasco, one would think GG would've pulled out all the stops to make the bust look like the fantastic portrait on the statue prototype. Instead, this looks scarcely better than the final statue.

What makes it even worse is that we KNOW Gentle Giant can do better. Look at their Dooku bust all the way back in the early years!!

I dont know. 2 me its pretty decent. Could it better? Of course it could be.

I just don't know why GG cant get Obi's hairdo right for these. He never had the ROTS short hair with the full clone armor. He was always sporting the mullet.

He did have the short hair later in the clone wars, but was only wearing bits of the armor at that point - a totally different look.
