My mom had health issues with my brother before he was born and needed hot toddys to get over the pain.
Long story short, he grew up to like alcohol. :lol

Yeah, this time of year downtown St.Louis has alot going for it. Just depends on what's going on but you have SLU not too far away and you have alot of that crowd. Baseball is always a large draw but thats more on the South end of downtown. Which, if your trying to tour the Anhueser Busch Brewery, just head south down Broadway, you pass through Soulard (Mardi Gras/Frenchtown) a little ways, and then you'll run right into it. I think the Lemp Brewery is still doing Haunted Tours because theres a whole urban legend thing at this time of year. You'll be on the North end of down where Laclede's Landing is just East/Center of where your staying. Think of right where the Arch is. After you get tired of that, don't forget ol' Sauget, most of the clubs on the East Side are 24hrs. "Pop's" can be fun, but it can also get hoosierville if thats your thing :chug

I have grown to hate the Landing's bar scene, going there multiple times over the past 10(?) years. :(

Now I just hit the casino. I must be getting old. :lol

Thanks for all the info. Not sure how much I'll get to explore after the concert. Their setlist has been consisting of 28 songs. :thud:

Damn Guys, NOT a big drinker but a shot of Makers and a beer may be just the ticket tonight...

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Nothing too exciting for me this weekend... but I will be going to see the Flaming Lips at the end of October :rock

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

Had a bottle of a fine Malbec from Argentina tonight while out for dinner. A rare moment where I was not at work, school, or clinic. But sadly, it was my first drink since Celebration VI.

Can I be in the drinking Star Wars club now! ;)

St. Louis is awesome! Went down to the Dubliner for a couple beers. Then more beer and dinner at Schlafly Tap Room. Back to Dubliner for another drink and some live music

There are some very cute girls around here. :rock

St. Louis is awesome? I spent four days there (was supposed to be six) but I left prematurely because my friend and I hated it so much. The entire city was under construction, so we couldn't get anywhere. It happened to be a "free" weekend or something, so every public attraction was free. We had to park over a mile away from the zoo and walk to it in 90-something degree weather. The food we had was mediocre. The line to get into the Gateway Arch was a couple of hours long. Overall, it was a disaster. I don't plan on going back!

:gah:

Told ya! :duff The Dubliner is one of my all time favorite places, and I've been to ALOT of pubs:drink

Washington Ave is pretty well maintained and has good mix of crowds, not too immature but doesn't drag at all. Lacledes Landing not so much, but it can still be fun if you don't mind the occasional slop. If your trying to get to the Zoo though, thats Forest Park-with the Art Museum and History Museum and it's busy no matter what time of year you go. When I lived there regularly, I always took the Metro-Link to it. If you want to see some really cool ****, head to the City Museum. Its right around the corner from the Dubliner and pretty close to where your staying. Pretty much anyone who works down there can point it out to you. Look for the giant "no ****" preying mantis on top of one of the buildings. That and its open till at least midnight.

I'm reading a novel for my literature class all weekend. No fun for me.

I'm not sure if any of you guys are into post hardcore, but I'm seeing Hot Water Music next weekend, my favorite. It also happens to be Shai's favorite band. They're from Florida, I'm from Cali and Shai is from Montreal. Only those with big ass balls know what's up. Geography does not matter.

re: (galactiboy's Cantina) "Where everybody knows your name..."

I went to see "The Avengers" at Wal-Mart, tonight. I had a great time!

Rush was freaking awesome! Went back to the Dubliner after the show. Not sure what was going on, but there were lots of cute girls in short skirts. Some even wearing tiaras.

Sold my MR Replicas Luke lightsaber hilt over the weekend... got $300 for it (about $75 more than I paid) so now I've got some spare cash to finish up my Graflex build.

I decided to get a nicer flashgun, so once I can spot one I want I'll move forward on the project :rock
