Hey fellow collectors,

I was doing a personal list of my figures and decided to do a little ranking of them. I found that it makes me look back on what I have in my collection, why I bought it and appreciate the collection I have and assess what future items would compliment it. I'd love to see how others rank their figures/reasons why they love cherished items. Hot toys, sideshow, Neca, 1/4 scale, 1/6 scale, 7"....whatever it may be...share the best of your collection.

Here are my top figures:

#1) Hot Toys 1/4 Boba Fett

I grew up loving the original Star Wars trilogy and one of my favorite characters was the mysterious bounty hunter Boba Fett. A lot of it had to do with the amazing design of the suit (blend of a super trooper and space knight). So getting this amazing character in 1/4 scale was a must. The figure itself it great..lifelike, has as many extras as you'd need. The skiff is really nice...adds a lot of unique flare.

#2) Hot Toys T2 T-800 Battle Damaged/DX13

DX13 is as iconic as the actor it portrays and the movie it is sourced from. Best likeness of Arnold I've seen (where Arnolds likeness seems to be hard to nail). The figure is that figure...the one that best defines the Terminator franchise and a masterpiece any collector would enjoy in their collection. Plenty of extras that give the figure man looks and display options as well as the T-1000 liquid metal display figure.

#3) Hot Toys DieCast Robocop

f8221ac2594dd0f9d376e85df1b6501f.jpg

This figure was extremely polarizing when released...major complaints were about the inaccuracy of the armor colour and Diecast percentage. But I really do not see that so much and absolutely love the figure. The only one accessory I wish they added in was a gun holding hand. Getting a good grip on the Auto 9 is very difficult with the hands given.

#4) Hot Toys Battle Damaged Robocop

The head sculpt on this figure is the best in my collection. Absolutely stunning, I cannot believe how detailed, accurate and movie accurate the Peter Weller Murphy sculpt is. The battle damage is extremely detailed...this figure was a must for me as a Robo fan.

#5) Hot Toys 1/4 Batman

e502e60e41c13242bc37b60f3508da70.jpg

This figure completely captures the Nolan Batman trilogy. As many extras as you'd need, all of Batmans gadgets (which is a lot and all extremely well put together, fantastic head sculpt, Decent base....its a really fantastic figure.

#6) Hot Toys StormTrooper

Just like Boba Fett, I've always loved the design of the Stormtrooper armor.

#7) Hot Toys Mark 3 Diecast

e0933ae3937c40141ca9c6e0ab66767b.jpg

This was my most recent hot toys and was given via a trade for IG-88 sideshow. I love this figure as it is from the best Iron Man movie (imho) and looks most like the comic book version of Iron Man I remember most. The figure is another polarizing one, with complaints coming about colour, articulation...It does take time and creativity to pose it.

#8) Hot Toys 89 Joker

c9e5f410a7469cbb3d60b13cd640764a.jpg

Built on a strong and creepy sculpt of Jack Nicholson as the joker. Nice detailed suit. A lot of extras. Big fan of the 89 movie.

#9) Hot Toys 1/4 scale Endoskeleton

6ee432f2183d530450d740c2e609011e.jpg

The killing machine...any terminator fan would love to have an Endoskeleton in some form. So much little detail put into this figure. The base is a bit of a knock on the figure, but the figure itself is such a head turner.

#10) Sideshow Boba Fett ESB version

This was a hard pick...I also debated 89 batman and "84 Battle damaged T800. I have a soft spot for this figure. I know it is far from accurate but I still enjoy it and find it really compliments my clone vet and boba prototype sideshow figures.

Now let me see your favorite figures!!!! I will enjoy reading all of your posts.

Cool figures & shots too... all shop bought figures I see, & certainly iconic too!

I started collecting Star Wars waaay back in the 70's, but the disappointing prequels really ended it and annoyed me so much I avoided ever owning a shop-bought SW figure and decided to start customising my own collection... I began obsessing (kidding) over Riddick - he in particular, speaks to the inner sci-fi nerd in me! A void left by my SW fandom.

I love the fact he "keeps what he kills" and he, just as much as Han & Luke, has so many different outfits, accessories and poses!!!

Those are great figures...
Yes all shop bought. I'm not crafty that way. Though I do draw and design and would love to have a figure made of my own design.

Thanks... How about a 1/4 John Connor to go with that TERMINATOR, a Jeremy Bulloch head on that BOBA, or a re-designed Clone head on Waxer/Boil??? All possible on this site!

Now THAT is something you should give serious consideration to doing... the sheer pleasure in creating your very OWN character/figure (either kitbashed from existing parts or totally customised) cannot be measured.

Nor, if I'm truly honest, is it ever completed... because if you find your self improving the look of the figure and accessories as yourself gain better skills, all that just adds even more depth to your creation, more so than simply having the standard, shop purchased item sitting there, untouched...

Welcome to SSF... hope your collecting (& customising) is inspired & more importantly - assisted!

It isn't an interest for me to make my own figure/customize. I have so much work to do on my own projects that it isn't something I have too much time for. That being said, I am interested in getting the Bandai Star Wars vehicles and painting them my own unique colour scheme (winter project). But I do admire the work done.

20160604_182954 (450x800).jpg

Chewie-- after a ridiculous amount of futzing of course

Custom Connery Bond
20160604_182833 (378x800).jpg

Custom Raylan Givens
