In my opinion it is Connery then everyone else. So with that being said, out of the actors that have come since I am going with George Lazenby. Lazenby is probably the least popular Bond of them all but I feel that is unfair considering his one film is one of the greatest of the series - On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

If you take the best parts of Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig you get the Bond Ian Fleming created. I find it funny that the actor Fleming wanted to portray Bond was David Niven who, in my opinion, is closer to Alfred Pennyworth than to the Bond-esque Bruce Wayne.

I grew up with Roger Moore, but I voted for Daniel Craig because I think he is outstanding, and just what the Bond franchise needs, especially after having Pierce "Runway" Bond Brosnan.

Good points Tom, I think in comparison to the literary Bond Craig probably is the best.

For me the movies do have that silly side to them, but I kinda like that in the Bond movies. Casino Royale was good, but in some ways it didn't quite feel like a Bond movie.

have to go with Craig. Casino Royale reinvented the franchise for me!

plus it was the first that didn't strike me as slightly campy.
