Weak.

They're removeable though, aren't they?

I hope they're removable. If we get an early seasons Wesley I want to pose him wearing them and Angel's coat to re-enact that scene from "Spin the Bottle" (I think it was STB).

The stakes aren't removeable from the launchers, but the whole contraption is just strapped to Angel's arm. So they could be used for the wistfully imagined Wesley.

Yes, they are removable.

Spin the Bottle was from Season 4... I think you have me confused, because I'm thinking of Season 2's Guise Will Be Guise, where Wes impersonates Angel.

And here I was, trying to find something new to watch instead of starting that same viciously entertaining cycle all over again...

I wasn't sure which episode it was but I was pretty sure he has them on in STB and he's acting all goofy in them. Oh well, guess I need to watch it again to be sure!:lol

Okay, I just went and checked and in STB he is wearing some wrist thing that looks like blades but Gunn asks him if it's a wooden stake and he says yes - even though they clearly look like blades - especially later when they keep uncontrollably keep popping out! lol

I love when Fred keeps trying to score some weed in that epsiode. :lol

I'm still trying to decide if I want to sacrifice my Live and Let Die Bond and give his black slacks and belt to Angel. Those leather pants just aren't cutting it for me. Roger Moore's going to look awfully funny standing on my shelf bare assed in a turtleneck and loafers. :monkey4

In STB he has a wrist sword that springs out in an embarrassing moment. I don't remember him ever wearing the wrist stakes.

I do remember some else wearing those wrist stakes, but I don't know if it was Gunn or Wesley or both.

I still don't own the Angel DVDs yet, howwever that oversight will be remedied on November 28th when those slim cases are released. :monkey5 :monkey5 :monkey5

Gunn wears the wrist stakes in the final episode. Fred uses at least one of them in Deep Down, the first episode of the Third Season...
The more I think about it, the more certain I am that Wesley never used them. In Spin the Bottle he had a collapsible sword on the underside of his wrist and a firing stake on the top of his arm... maybe that's where the confusion is coming from.
Anyways, I can't wait til Friday!
And where are all the pics?

When I checked out the episode earlier he is wearing something similar to Angel's wrist stakes but they look like blades. They popped out just like them too (later on the sword thing pops out and is much longer than the initial popping "stakes"). The confusion comes when Gunn, who is standing like a few inches from Wesley when it happens and can clearly see what they look like, asks Wesley if those are "wooden stakes" and Wesley replies "Yes". He definitely says "wooden stakes". But they are flat and shiny like blades and make metalic noises. I think someone screwed up with the writing their a bit or gave Alexis the wrong props. Regardless, the whole segment was hilarious and one of the best comedic moments that Wesley ever had. Especially after that Wesley had long disappeared and had been replaced with the dark and broody Wesley that we all came to love.

I suck at taking pictures. took about 20, of which this was the only one in focus. grr, argh. but I gotta get to work, so maybe this'll hold you over till someone can do better. oh, and btw, Angel looks WAY better if you untuck his shirts and open the outer one. well, I think so anyway.

why is it we can't get interchangable hands ala Spike's spare head? it would be so nice if we could lose the vaguely pornographic paws...(yah, I know, mind in gutter.)

It looks good to me, however I'm starting to think the actual product, even though it¡s great, doesn't look that much like the prototype but more like Becoming Angel. Maybe I'll change my mind when I see a front shot. Please someone? Thanks for the pic, annagranfors

okay, a few more. I gotta admit, I'm not nuts about the eye color, but all in all, he's byootiful.

Thanks for all the pics! I can't wait 'till I get my shipment, as I always look forward to new whedonverse goodies, but he is certainly losing a little luster knowing that Giles, Cordy and Lorne are al on their way!

Nice photos Anna!! I think he looks great (but the eyes do seem off). And the pleather coat looks heavier and nicer than the Becoming Angel's. I'll take your advice and untuck the shirts because I agree that it looks better that way! It makes his outfit look less like BAs as well.
