Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

I'm glad other people commented on this, cuz for a moment I thought someone had leaked a pic of Pegg as Scotty from the next "Trek" film! :lol Don't take that the wrong way, Dorgster, I LOVE Simon Pegg, so that's a GOOD thing!

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

OWWW guys my secret is out :( hhahaah I guess he does look a little like me haaah.. he is quite a catch.... humm

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Seriously, Dorgmal, If I were you I would try and get in touch with Simon Pegg's people (Agent, Manager, Production Co.) and see if you could get some stand-in work. At the very least you could easily work as a celebrity look alike.

If I looked that much like a celebrity, that's the route I would go.

Back to NABRUN LEIDS quickly....

I couldn't find two Greedo suits but I did find something else that may work...

Mego Moonraker James Bond spacesuit from 1979. I managed to get two. Seems like it will work close enough -- very close to Greedos but I don't need to paint it.

Just need boots now and I'm ready to paint up and assemble Nabrun.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Thanks guys!

The ribbing down the sides is the only trickly part as there isn't a natural seam to add the additional arms like there was on Greedo's suit... but I'm sure I can just cut a hole and stitch the sleeves on.

Those crazy white "bag" pockets come right off too -- one snip of the stitch.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

I just got Bom and Nabrum in the mail and WOW these things look fantastic. If anyone has any reserves about getting one of these go head and get them, they are well worth the money.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Can someone tell me what type of paint they used on these. I dont want to use cheap paint that will peel off.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Very nice tutorial man and great custom... awesome mate.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Ok, I have SUCH a newb question, I'm a little embarrassed to ask but, what the heck, here goes: how does one go about prepping a cast resin head for mounting on a body? I mean the neck, specifically; with the cast head, you have sort of a "stump" that I'm assuming is a by-product of the casting process. So how do you go from a stump to a hole that a neck-post will fit into without damaging the head? Okay, I'm gonna stop asking questions because it's all starting to sound vaguely pornographic, but if someone could take a moment to help me with an answer, I'd be ever-so!

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

If it is a solid stump, you will need to drill out the bottom to fit the neck post. I use a large drill bit and firmly grasp the head and drill into the neck at least 3/4 of an inch. I will wiggle it around some to widen the hole, and then use a Dremel tool with either a grinding bit or a sanding bit to widen the hole enough to fit around the post.

Re: Enaud's 1/6 Custom Headsculpts,Etc.

Wor-Gar, excellent job tracking down the Moonraker outfit - I agree with Mark, it'll wind up looking as good as the Greedo jumpsuit with less modification needed! You either have an encyclopedic knowledge of exisiting 12 figures or you did some thorough researching - it paid off.

It does lead me to a question, though (I'm sure it's been kicked around by fanboys before and will be again): is Nabrun's outfit silver or pearlescent white? In screen grabs I've seen, it looks more white, but with the Cantina lighting, who knows? Hasbro did it both ways in 3 3/4, so.....?:dunno

Thanks for the kind words.

And your question was driving me nuts for awhile too. Especially with the two Hasbro figures. There's even a prop picture where the spacesuit looks white. I read somewhere that it was an actual race driver's suit. But in the film, at least on my monitor, it seemed to have a more silver sheen to it -- it could have been some bluish lighting on the white but we'll never know.

In the end, the fact that Hasbro did a white pearl version and then a silver version tells me either choice is acceptable.

I think silver looks better than white (although genuine shiny pearl might look cool) so I went for silver...that and I found the Moonraker outfit.
