I like the first Guyver design and paint job but the movie is pure cheese. The second one was a little grittier and ditched the slapstick humor.

I thought the first film had a better grasp of its identity and as goofy as it was it was executed much better than the sequel inside it's Framework. I really enjoyed how cheesy the film was it was charming, in a Kung fu, sci-if monster movie type of way.

The second film started out great, but I thought it got lost in its own story. there were many aspects of the sequel that were superior like fight choreography, effects...ect but overall I found it to be a deflated sequel and there was nothing particularly redeeming about this film like Cain in RoboCop 2
