Seems like it's been Star Wars and Batman, Star Wars and Batman...and I don't see that trend altering a lot any time soon when looking at the products hitting over the next couple months. But it doesn't all have to be about those licenses, and tonight I'm going old school with a look at DST's Univeral Monster The Mummy figure - version 2! This guy just started shipping:

The less expensive TRU release has a slightly different paint scheme on the figure. They did the same thing with the first Creature From the Black Lagoon releases. The TRU paint ops are not as effective as the Diamond Select release. Definitely invest in the DS release - it's a much nicer display piece.
 
Generally speaking, the Select releases are always worth the extra bucks, but particularly with the Universal Monsters.
