Today, Dr.FeelGood's Surgery Presents - To Make a Dominar...


Dominar Rygel XVI to be exact

I am a massive fan of Farscape, one of the most entertaining SciFi series of its time. And fans and non-fans alike remember Rygel, the ugly (yes somehow cute), fat, abusive, diminutive "Dominar to over 600 billion people".

I am a very lucky person, weeks before the Henson Creature Shop in London closed its doors, i got a chance to visit the shop and see alot of the Farscape production molds and maquettes. Farscape was the last "Big" Television production to be handled completely in house by the London based Creature Shop.

This is my attempt to produce a 1/6th scale Rygel...didnt think "Sparky" could get any shorter...

Current stage of the project is Rygel's fat little body...

And Rygels big....posterior!

Since taking these pictures i have textured his skin, and sculpted a "basic" skull to build up on the head.

The "frame" is made of 2mm thick wire, bent and wrapped in tin foil.

Rygel wont have any form of articulation, he'll just be a little statue!


That way the little **** wont eat my food cubes!

And a quick extra, just to show the scale

This is as true to 1/6 as i can get, the original Rygel puppet was the length of a human fore-arm when seated, which is what the final model will be.
