And... I don't recall Wrinkle in Time having any African American connection at all. How did it suddenly get linked to the Black Lives Matter movement? Because it has a black director and some black actors?

Despite the themes, even Black Panther feels like an odd one to go all gushy over - for better or worse, Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Kevin Feige and Bob Iger (and pretty much every Disney senior exec) is white.

Tyler Perry is the creative and the studio and his films have together probably earned about the same as BP will make worldwide, yet no one gets all gushy over him.

I love how they can make almost anything into a ‘record’ nowadays... this is basically equivalent to an award of participation but they’re really trying to push how ‘big’ this movie is.

I’m glad it’s not doing well in ‘the real world’
