Although to be fair, the amount that eBay charges for the service they provide is extremely overpriced. Of course the cost is protection for sales and purchases, but they don't do that very well anyways so the high cost isn't really worth it.

You realize standard auction houses charge 20%-30% and up for just marketing it to not even a quarter of the audience eBaY has, right? And not only do they dictate the price, but if they deem something unsellable, they won't even give you the time of day. You might think eBaY's prices are high, but they're comparable for the services/audience they provide and not only let you sell almost whatever you want, but let you dictate the price.

eBay hardly has to do anything to support the listings--remember they started out at a low cost, just a few dollars for your listing--nothing has changed since then other than that they want more money. For some reason no other website has tried to do better than them.

Besides, a real auction house has to have the space for each item and the time to sell them. They also have seller protection way beyond what ebay offers.

So who's putting a gun to your head forcing you to use them? If they offend you that much, use Craig's List and hope for the best. :huh :lol
