I've been to multiple Indy Car races and seen this guy race, but I've never seen anything like this Indy Car wise.

Damn. Just saw the video of the crash. I'm amazed anyone walked away from that in those little indy cars. Sad for the guys family for sure.

Wow finally saw the video. Sad to see this, even wore hearing after only getting 3 rides this year he had just been given a full time ride.

That had to have been one of the worst crashes in auto racing history. Beyond belief and utterly tragic.

I am not a fan of the car racing but it's sad when someone loses a life this way.

Even with all the safety standards @ Indy and F1, due to the crazy speeds these guys reach, it's always a risk...

Tragic. IRL should not be racing on this particular track. Fine for NASCAR going 170 mph. To small of a track for open wheel racing at 230+

I was at the race last weekend in Vegas-- very gnarly and very sobering. Race pix from my Flickr acct The last picture I posted was the start of the race-- so don't go if you're looking for carnage.

at the speeds these guys go, Ive always been amazed Indy cars are still open over the driver.
