I remember those days but weren't those "only on specific items" cards? They used ot give those away at SDCC all the time (I actually still have some here on my work desk) but because of what items they worked on I hardly ever used them.
It seems the same now as when they offer the $75 off Thanos, etc. A handful of items but a "deep discount" on them (and I put that in quotes because this thread opened my eyes to the fact that even with the discounts they're sometimes more expensive than market rate)
