My main point is that there's no way the foreign version is gonna be better or even come close to being as good as the original. Why remake when you could just add subtitles or even dub it?

Because that would be horrible. Remaking the show is perfectly fine. It gets the story to a wider audience.

Besides, it's not going to affect the show anyway. You probably will never see it.

well, to be honest, American audiences won't even watch good movies subtitled in english.

movies have to be remade with american actors so that american audiences will actually watch them. The whole (If I wanted to read, I'll read a book) People wouldn't even watch the original ring or the Grudge.

I guess the same goes for Them, Just like America cannot be bothered with reading because reading is for books only.

I could see why they would want to do this in spanish. The story is a really good story and the people behind this want to reach the latino market.

I Honestly don't see a subtitle version of Breaking bad doing well.

I don't believe he wanted to save Jesse until he saw him. He's surprised when Badger and Pete hint that Jesse may still be alive and up to that point, he has no reason to think Jack hasn't already killed him and the reason the product is up is because Todd got tips from Jesse before that happened. Remember that was supposed to be Walter helping Todd get the purity up in exchange for Jesse's outright death.

Everything else is dead on though.

yeah I think Walt wanted Jesse dead up till the point when he saw what they had done to him in captivity, then he knew he had to save him cause as the whole episode had shown, Walt was trying to make amends for all the horror he had created for everyone, and in the end that also included Jesse.

Everyone that had anything to do with the Meth business was now gone or dead, so he was successful.

I think when Pete and Badger mentioned the blue , he knew right away what went down.
What you guys seem to forget is Walt is Masterful Chess Player and is always thinking a few steps ahead throughout this whole series . to think that Jack and The Hillbilly Nazi's out smarted Walt is a great insult . the only competition Walt had in the battle of wits was with Gus , and we all know how that game ended. so please give my Friend Walt his due respect and credit .

You underestimate the power of the Spanish novela. Ever heard of "La Reina del Sur"? They're gonna option that for an english T.V. version. The Spanish/Latin American base is the largest growing consumer market in the world and the "Novela" is its staple.

MINOR subtitles on a screen when one character switches to another langues is fine, but when it's constant, I find it jarring, and in some cases VERY hard to follow.

And I say this with unequivocal certainty there is NO WAY metastasis will surpass brba in acting, writing, production or any other measurable quality.

You do know that a "novella" and a "dramatic series" format is different right? It's going to be a soap opera version of Breaking Bad and Latin America has years of experience making these types of things work especially with fine writing, acting and production.

Its easy to say that this won't be better than the original because your right it won't.....It's the Original! But I can guarantee you that if this does succeed, based on Latin America and Spanish speaking consumer growth, Vince Gilligan is looking to make more money with the Novella version than he ever did with the original and it's popularity will be multiplied far more versus the original T.V series to the point where people may start to confuse the original as a remake version of the novella.
