Now With Hat

Casting of the hat is a bit off. I have a hat from the Maddox sculpt I'm going to try also.

I'm seriously not feeling this. Looks like a zombie-version of Indiana Jones. He looks sickly. And even the sculpt itself looks off (maybe from it being shrunk down!?) The nose looks big/abnormally wide and the lips look weird as well.

The PF you recently painted up looks perfect in contrast:

So iunno, but this 1/6 scale version looks really weird to me. And it has nothing to do with the hat (saw your post about that).

the eyes look perfect! (who is the actor again? I remember trev sculpted it but I want to look up some comparison pics)

Re: Inara

Morena Baccarin. :drool

Yup. I used to work in a building with Associated Press offices so my coworkers and I used to see a lot of celebrities coming and going for interviews. She is the only person I saw that literally dropped my jaw. I actually told my friend "stop talking to me until I can't see her any more."
I had to linger in the lobby so I didn't end up on the same elevator as her as I would have said something completely stupid and probably indecipherable to human ears.
:love:stick

What thread am I in again?

Oh yeah, nice paint up, Boot!

Hey John, got the heads back today, great job as always, thanks.

I know you didn't like painting this sculpt as much as some of the
others, but here's a quick pic of what she turned into....:)

The pictures a bit dark, it's night here and the lighting is poor.
I'll try to take a better one tomorrow in natural light so everyone can see the eyes(which turned out great).

This photo, does not do her justice, but you get the idea.
Keep in mind John only had a bald sculpt to work on and now she is Selene from the climax of the first film.

Thanks John. :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

Updated Pictures in natural light.

What was bad about this, I remember seeing the project had a pretty good sculpt?

Nothing really bad, but the mold was on it's last leg so
the quality of the casting goes down. Painters normally
don't like to work on casting as they start to decline in
quality. But John still did a bang up job on an imperfect sculpt casting.

So thanks to him for doing it. Most don't even bother, so
John went above & beyond as far as I'm concerned.

I have actually had other well known painters keep it for
4-6 months, only to send it back unpainted. I've gotten
excuse after excuse, but not from John.

So if there was an emo rating system, he
gets a rating of 4 out of 4 bows for this.

Yea I know what you mean about the molds, they only hold up for so many heads, after that I go ahead and create a few more just in case someone were to pop up with a cast request.

Good deal, I'm glad he took care of, says something about the person sometimes more than the work and indeed it's great work also - win-win.
