I'll take my chances. Even if it's just results in an amazing figure.

Well, I did finally watch the whole thing. Some thoughts in addition to the previous ones.

Spoiler:

As a film I actually enjoyed it. It goes by pretty fast and there's no real bloat or filler. It grabs you and keeps going. But I do think there should've been more room to breathe because at times it feels like it's going by too fast, you know? The directing's very Raimi and he brings his usual trademarks. It's not a horror flick, but it's got some good PG-13 jumpscares. Wanda is a legitimate evil witch here, not just a cape pretending to be one. She has all the usual grimaces, creepy walks and everything. Some really cool bits of her attacking people. It's pretty gory at that too, at least for PG-13 levels. A woman gets burned alive and ends up being a charred corpse, zombie Strange is a legitimate zombie with rotting flesh and so on. So yeah, there's Raimi cheese & gore.

The problem is the script which is awful. Strange is a passenger in his own film, Wanda is half-baked and the Chavez stuff are cookie cutter nonsense you've seen a million times before. The movie when it was supposed to be about just Strange and Wanda was probably much better. It's also easy as Hell to fix and still keep it as a set-up for all the Multiversal stuff they want to do.

• Cut Chavez from the flick. She adds nothing and is just bloat.
• Have Chthon as an actual presence and make it clear he's the one mindcontrolling Wanda, and basically using her as a meat puppet.
• Make the main plot that the "Scarlet Witch" is just a way for Chthon to lure someone in to act as his physical anchor so that he can enter the physical realm and start screwing things up.
• If you want to do the Multiverse as a concept, then Chthon entering the physical realm should have the barries of reality start to break as a result. The problem here is that that's Shuma-Gorath's deal, while Chthon is more of an Elder Demon type. Primordial spirits and the such. Shuma is the true Multiversal entity. I'd go about it that Chthon wants to connect his shelves across the Multiverse, whereas Shuma would be a sort of Old God existing across all realities as one being, and would keep him for DS3.
• No need for Chavez, just make the Darkhold the key to travelling between universes.
• Raise the runtime to 2.5 hours or so, maybe more, and spend more time with the characters. Wanda getting more and corrupted until she really breaks bad around the 30-minute mark, Strange picking up on what's happening on his own and conducting a mini-investigation before it hits the fan, such things.
• Keep the rest the same, but add more universes for them to visit, as they hunt Wanda across all realities, where she goes on a "witch hunt", finding other versions of her and corrupting them so that Chthon can manifest in as many places as possible.
• Keep the Illuminati bit in, but make the team feel like a proper Illuminati. Maria and Carter didn't need to be there. If you can't afford RDJ or Cruise, go with Pym or something. Stick as close to the original team as possible and make one or two changes that make sense. Carter and Rambeau shouldn't be anywhere near such a team. Anyway, you can keep that sequence mostly the same (basically they stumble upon one universe and meet those Illuminati), but don't kill them all in such retarded ways. Kill one or two before the fight moves on to another place.
• Finally end it by Strange reaching out to Wanda and having her find the will to resist and banish Chthon. I'd say "and then she commits suicide" but we all know even now she's not dead.
• Strange takes his title back, and he decides to set up his own Illuminati. Something-something you can't change your nature something-something.

There, it's that easy. There's a good script under there, but the set-ups, the unecessary Chavez inclusion, the heavy cuts and everything just botched it. It's evident there was an Iron Man there as there's a chair at the far right that remains empty. The original leaks included Balder, but I don't see why they'd cut him, and also I see no point in having Ultron Bots without a Stark or Pym. In any case, the editing really did this flick dirty.

When all is said and done, it's disappointing, the usual problems such as bad CGI and uninspired choices remain, but it's not a quipfest and Raimi brings enough of his style to make it feel rather fresh. It's a 6-7/10 capeflick that mostly pisses me off because of what it isn't due to being ruined by the suits. I enjoyed it much more than most recent outputs anyhow. Just the Raimi-isms and Wanda being a fun to watch psycho ***** make it worth a watch.

I'm buying a Wanda for sure now. I only ever planned on getting one for my Sorcerer shelf, but if she appears again in a better costume, I can just put one with Magneto in my X-Shelf, or pair Corrupted MOM Wanda with Doom next to his throne if I build such a display, and put a clean Wanda in my Sorcerer shelf. We'll see, anyhow. Point is, I really enjoyed her even if I do think she's a psycho *****, and I hope HT gives her the black fingers. From the Stranges I want all 3 (main, Defender and Supreme) but consider there'll be a 3rd one I'm thinking of skipping the main costume and going just for Supreme & Defender and waiting to see if they'll ever give him a completely comic accurate look with the gloves and everything.

From the Illuminati, I want Bolt, Reed and Xavier. All 3 will get proper MCU appearances down the road, but I want doubles, so if they happen, I'll try and get them. But honestly, only Xavier I think has some chance of happening. But you know, there'll be at least 3 FF flick and 3 XM flicks, so I'll have more chances of getting Reed and Xavier. I assume Bolt will appear in an FF flick properly as well. I'm not getting my hopes up for any of them, but I'm going to make some room just in case. If they don't get put up for PO by the end of the year though, they're dead.

HUGE CAMEO SPOILERS (IF TRUE)

Iron Cruise is in. Recent leaks have the Illuminati as Xavier, Rambeau, Carter, Mordo, TV Show Black Bolt and Krasinski Reed. I didn't buy it because it feels like obvious muddying of the waters to me. The pic looks legit, and that's obviously Iron Cruise and not Rambeau. She's got two glowie-bits in the centre.

Meanwhile Iron Cruise has the reactors all over akin to the comic.

The pic could obviously be fake, or that could be Rambeau just in a different light (we've only seen her with energy all around her) but I think it's real. The hoverchair's got the same shade from the recent tv spot, it's identical to the one from the storyboards I saw months and months ago, and with the Ultrons there, not to mention their specific colouring, it makes sense. After all the hype, if their big cameos, as recent leaks suggest, are Bruce Cambpell playing a Pizza Man, Captain Carter/Rambeau, and Cancelled TV Show Bolt, with a "Honey Bee Universe", then I'm out of the MCU for good. We'll find out this Thursday, but I'm still hoping for Iron Cruise.

Imagine him appearing for 5 minutes and blowing RDJ's 10 year stint. That'd hurt. I imagine if they enticed Cruise with "you'll be playing the SUPERIOR Iron Man" he'd do it. And honestly? He would be the Superior Iron Man. I'll buy whatever doll they make of Iron Cruise if he is in it and he keeps appearing as some leaks suggest.

Remember, the leaked pic nobody debunked was this:

The lines match with how the lights are distributed across the suit, and he's sporting the same hairstyle Superony had:

Plus the bloat which is similar to the last time he was photographed.

And the Dr. Strange reshoots taking place in London right next to the M:I shoots.

I'm not saying he's 100% in it, but I'm hyping myself up for my Iron Cruise doll...

Reading this was fun, such a shame it didn’t happen. Seems so weird to have this character not included, regardless what actrice or actor portrays it.

Finally back. Expectations were high cause of those awesome trailers. Well...

First of all, this thread should be called "Victor in the Multiverse of Madness." Dude has entered every stage of sanity since I last entered.

This was supposed to be the best MCU film for me! This looked like it had all the pieces for that.

I liked it, didn't love it. It was a good, not great film. The Raimi touch was there, but wasn't totally there. Man, what a difference from Scott Derrickson. Derrickson nailed the first one and there was just something about this one - it was just different. Seemed more closeup with the lens, brighter looking film for the most part but somehow not a smooth flowing film. Maybe not enough Strange development. It felt longer than what it was. I'm honestly still trying to process it.

But wow, the direction is certainly not what I expected. The Witch went full psycho and really was the villain for the whole film! I was wrong and thought she would be turned by the half at the latest, but she was the villain. Olsen did her best job in this one, funny as it is as a villain.

I do wonder what Derrickson wanted to do with this. He openly stated he wanted Nightmare as the next villain. It turned out that nightmares was just a connective multiversal tissue.

There is certainly a lot of special moments in here. A lot of unexpected spells. Wanda was OP as OP can get and some of the stuff she was able to do was very clever.

The Illuminati scene was awesome. Once I heard Baxter Foundation, I knew Reed had to be in this. I'll admit I did a clap for Krasinski Reed as I was dying for F4 and Krasinski has done some real good work since The Office. BLACK BOLT WHAT? Anson is back too?! Wow! He was certainly cool in the little time he had. That X-Men The Animated Series jingle when Xavier appeared was AWESOME! I totally called the

moment as Xavier entering Wanda's mind. jye knows. That was awesome too. Totally worth seeing all these cool and interesting characters just get dump trucked by Dream Walking Wanda. But they had that coming to them with killing Supreme Strange!

I thought watching an unwarranted 10 minutes of Tom Cruise flying around and only seeing shots of pilot's faces for some reason that hopefully it was some deal for his Iron Cruise appearance. It is unfortunate that he wasn't here. A missed opportunity. But the multiverse is still open, but always best to not get your hopes up!

Chavez wasn't a problem to me. Someone needed to explain the multiverse, she was unique in character and wasn't troublesome. I expected more multiverse travel as the quick sequence of multiverse travel didn't do it for me.

Danny Elfman's score sucked. I didn't notice anything epic or unique about it. I totally thought he was David Caruso from CSI on the red carpet premiere!

The Zombie sequence was amazing! But he wasn't a zombie, but just possessed in a sense. Still quite different an approach that I certainly did not see coming.

Too bad there wasn't more time with the Strange variants. The sequence with Sinister was a little hammy with the notes, but would fit in with a Strange way of thinking. Kind of odd that the Darkhold gave main Strange a third eye. Not sure what to think of that and we'll see in the third one.

It bothered me that conjuring up chains to hold a huge monster in place probably isn't the best idea - and it obviously wasn't! The conjured serpents was awesome! Cool sequence there. Spaniard El Strango was cool. I liked that opening a lot.

The resolution just felt empty. Strange didn't use the macguffin book and kinda gave us a Martha moment of a lack of a suspenseful resolution. We all know the Witch isn't dead. VERY surprised we didn't get a "Let there be mutants," bit.

The Bruce Campbell bit was a bad joke. Not funny then nor at the very end credit. I expected something more clever as it seemed like it was just to get him in the movie.

The Clea bit was odd. "Hey, there's stuff going on. Want to join up and do stuff in this other universe?"

I'm seeing this tomorrow again to see if anything has changed for me. I think maybe I am in 7.5/10 territory?

This is not a spoiler, but Feige did confirm on the red carpet that Sylvie took the man in charge out in Loki, which lead to Strange being able to open up the multiverse in NWH. Those events lead to this movie. Glad to see that was confirmed.

If some people truly cared about this movie, you would think they are smart enough to NOT look in here.

Glad I navigated all of that and didn't get spoiled. The teaser, then the main trailer was all I needed to get hyped. But no spoiler tags on the social media sites. The movie isn't even released yet. Geeze, let people see the movie at least on opening weekend before posting that nonsense everywhere. At least here you have spoiler tags and it is your fault to click on them. I don’t know if Kevin Feige got #MeTooed and is on his way out, but Disney basically gave Sam Raimi $200 million to make EVIL DEAD 4.

If cameos and fanservice are your thing, stick to NO WAY HOME (DR. STRANGE’s are kind of disappointing.) If you want a metal, horror-soaked rollercoaster with a Director’s signature flair, MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS is 5/5. Makes most of the MCU films of the past decade feel like flat, made for TV movies.

It does make sense of how Wanda was full villain. I just didn't think Marvel/Olsen would do it. I applaud both! I just remember how Renner didn't like how he was a villain in The Avengers and was compensated with some extended time in Age of Ultron.

Some of the info drops I need a second viewing on. I didn't totally grasp certain points, I think one with Chavez and mainly the Reed Richards one as I was in full excitement mode and not listen mode.

I expect DS3 to fix the multiverse issue with Clea, but we'll see. There was a 6 year gap between Strange movies and who knows what team up movies will be in between them.

I've listened to people leaving the theater, read comments online and this is a divisive film. I just watch Cumberbatch in these interviews and he just doesn't seem that excited about it. More so than other actor doing promotional tours.

I hated this movie. It was really just another army of darkness without Ash. I did like scarlet witch though. The illuminati was also fine.

The plot can basically be gathered in the first 3 or 5 minutes of the movie, then it has to claw its way back up the next 2 hours.

The ending is also a letdown the post credits are the worst since spiderman homecoming, CA talking about disappointment.
