Spanish police have arrested three suspected computer hackers allegedly linked to recent cyberattacks on Sony's PlayStation Network as part of the shadowy international "Anonymous" network of hackers.

National Police said in a statement that the three are Spaniards ages 30 to 32, The New York Times and Associated Press report.

Police said a computer server in the home of one of the suspects, in the port city of Gijon, was used to hack two major Spanish banks, an Italian energy company and the governments of Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Iran, Chile, Colombia and New Zealand.

I wonder if they will find any associations between these guys and Geohot.

So in other words they got picked up for hacking bank and government computers, and noticed they also hacked PSN??

Basically.

hacking bank/government networks > hacking a videogame network

so they hacked a bank...most likely they also get blamed for PSN hack, illegal internet downloads, free porn scams, wikileaks, jaywalking and over speeding is a school zone. that's how Spanish police rolls.

:lol

Technically, the game network is itself a big deal. Think about all of the personal information that's been exposed. There haven't really been any reports of this yet, but it could surface up later. Gaming has gotten so big nowadays that a lot of your privacy could be tied up in it.
