Hi,
We at Warriors Gate are thinking that maybe casting our clawed Catwoman hands as die-cast metal or some other form of metal might be a cool and smart idea to keep the claws from breaking but have no clue about how to do that what-so-ever.

Does anyone else here know? Thanks!

Yep, I’ve done some metal casting.

You’ll need a high temp silicone (like Smooth- on’s Dragon skin) and a vacuum chamber to de-air the mold, if you don’t the air bubbles in the mold will expand when the hot metal goes in and will cause pits in the casting.

For the metal I suggest this from Miro Mark: https://www.micromark.com/CASTING-METAL-TYPE-R-18-OZand42-CUBIC-,8336.html
They also have all the other supplies you’ll need.

Let me know how it works out for you. I have an Iron Man MK V suit and War Machine to run in metal in the future and know absolutely nothing about metal casting. I go to Starlight Studios for my small stuff; But something that big, no idea who to even think to refer you to.

Edit: Just went to that site - some great stuff...

Just an example; this is a ____ Tracy 2-way wrist radio I cast in that same metal. I machined the master in aluminum and molded in a high temp rubber. It’s a very hard casting metal but still soft enough that it will bend a little so there are fewer breaks. It also shines up nice with a little steel wool.

Wow, man! That's sweeeeet! Nice job!

If your use silicone rubber moulds before you porn in the metal make sure you give each side a light dusting of talc powder otherwise the surface will be all blotchy and have slight bubbles.I have no idea why talc powder but it ALWAYS works.
