Advice on signature collection

A buddy of mine was given a box of photos with signatures. One of his uncles performed on stage and collected photos with signatures.
A few of the names of old stage and screen stars photos are as follows:

Joan Crawford

Douglass Fairbanks Jr.

Clifton Webb

Mrs. Thomas Whiffen

Gertrude MacDonald

Marie Saxon

Glenn Hunter

Inez Courtney

Mostly obscure names of unknown actors.

He has been wanting to sell these but does not where to start. I told him I'd do a thread on SSF to see if anyone can direct him where to go.
Is Ebay or an auction house the best way?
