if you have not seen freddy's revenge, i suggest you do. it is one of the best nightmare films. i just wanted to say the sideshows classic freddy figure is from part 2 i believe, becuase i was watching the movie yesterday and i realized that the facail expression and look was just like the sideshow one.
this thread is for everything noes2!!!!!i know its random.:D

ANOES 2 had potential and some geniunely scary parts, but there was too much of a homoerotic vibe to it (as I recall, the director and writer were lovers and the guy who played Jesse went on to star in gay porn). Now, I'm not homophobic by any stretch of the imagination, but that tone felt extremely out of place in a "Nightmare" film.

What are you guys talking about?! :nono Nightmare 2 has positively one of the funniest scenes ever to grace New Line's film library. When Freddy tears off his scalp, exposing his brain, Jesse's big ***** scream is better than Daniel Stern's in the spider scene in Home Alone.

I've been meaning to pick up the whole series on dvd. I'll have to give part two another shot. I definitely remember it being my least fav, though.

:lol Yep! I remember that .............. what a horrid movie. I love part one, its a classic but the rest are hard to watch at times. 3 was not too shabby either but overall there was way too much comedy after the 1st one.

1, 3 and 4 for me.

Agreed, the first one was the best for me, 2 was kind of iffy and the following, well bits of comedy don't match up well with horror for me.

This movie is gay...litrally. It has so many gay undertones. Not that theres anything wrong with gay....but if you wanted to make a statement, a slasher movie aint the best way to go.

First was best but yeah, the follow ups just don't hold up...the 'humor' got way too campy for my tastes...BUT what I enjoyed about 2, and I did enjoy 2 to an extent, was 1.) the fact that it is actually quite disturbing when you think about it (not necessarily while youre watching it), and 2.) the weird homoeroticism.

First off, the way the film focused on Freddy's return through Jesse was really bizarre and in many ways, kind of disturbing when you think about it in today's post columbine climate where teen violence and school murders are almost expectable. It's horrible, yes, but that's why it's kind of disturbing when you realize that the victims were all murdered by Jesse, through his body.

Second, the homoeroticism was actually kind of interesting, especially since it was apparently 'unintended.' Freud would have a field day with this movie. If this movie wasn't consciously about Freddy using a boy's repressed homosexuality as a weakness to manipulate as a means to kill, then I think it is most definitely unconsciously what it is about. I think this dialogue sums up the movie perfectly:

Jesse: Something is trying to get inside of me.
Ron: Yeah, it's female and it's waiting for you in the cabana, and you want to sleep with me.

The classic sideshow figure isn't from part one, there's more red scabby bit on his head in part 1 and his arms dont have any stripes...

I love most of Sideshows horror figures and hope to own the Dream Warriors version they did of Freddy some day.

I did not like 2. The only part I liked was the part where freddy reveals his brain. Now that was awesome. I wish the series had better actors, it really got quite corny to watch, other than the death scenes of course.

My two favorite scenes. 1st is Freddy kills greta (below is the more gruesome UNRATED VERSION ).

2nd is Lets Get High

Nightmare 2 is extremely underrated IMO. It's a SOLID eighties horror film and my third favourite in the Nightmare series (behind the original and Parts 3). Here's my top 10 reason's why:
1. The soundtrack is sooooo creepy.
2. Kevin Yagher's Freddy makeup looks incredibly evil and realistic.
3. Freddy is scary as hell, and has an urgency and threat in everything he does.
4. I think Jesse is more "awkward" than gay. He played a great "goofy" teenager. Sure there were homoerotic overtones in the film (the coach being into S&M and all), but I don't think it hurt the film.
5. I think the whole possession idea was unique, and a great way to tackle the sequel.
6. 2 CLASSIC horror moments - Freddy revealing his brains - and the blades going through Grady and through the door (in Grady's death scene).
7. Pool Party!!! "You are all my children now" and "help yourself ^^^^^ker"... need I say more.
8. The acting was great for a low budget movie. Lisa really sells the scene when she faces off with Freddy in her kitchen. She looks totally petrified and overwhelmed, which in turn makes Freddy look that much more terrifying.
9. The bookend start and finish in the bus was really cool (even with the shoddy special effects).
10. Many people bash this film, but is has so much more going for it than Parts 5 and Freddy's Dead. Remember in part 6 when Freddy got beat up by his daughter... who happens to be a middle aged woman... now that is GAY! :)

I liked this movie but I like 3 and 4 the most of the series. I've always wanted the dream warriors Freddy but can never find a good price for him :monkey2

I havent seen prt2 in years, probably 15 or more. Need to back and watch it again.

I remember liking it, mostly because it was so dark and Freddy was pretty freakin evil in it, atleast thats how I remember it :dunno
