I think he said it took him 80 hours to make this happen, can you imagine paying a dude this talented for 80 hours of work? That would be a LOT of cash. If you don't care about the game being playable, you could try.....

Cutting out some cardboard to shape into the cabinet, I suppose you would need to fashion the yoke out of paper though it would look kind of cheap.

Printing the decals from MAME's .gif library

Finding a small LED screen and figure out a way to run MAME or another emulator on it.

It won't look nearly as good as this custom work, but it might work?
 
The Caanoo is a discontinued device, it would probably be more practical today to use an iPod Touch or Android device and put Mame4all on it.

A 1:6 arcade machine is a very cool idea, but if I were to put any money into such a project I have a full size Star Trek Strategic Operation Simulator sit down version that I would work on making functional again.
