Re: ►► Jkno's Imperial collection from Transylvania ◄◄

Thank you very much guys. :hi5: As you can see I posted a bit rarely compared to other times, I have some health issues so it will be like this for a while.

Two different TV stations in my country asked me to help them make a TV show about my collection, but I declined both times. One of them contacted me about a year ago, and one just recently. Here is the link where the Digi24 Channel employee contacted me online - they also contacted me by email: Colectie 2013 - Star Wars - message from Alexalu down the page
Sorry to hear about the health concerns, Serjiu. Wish you the best and hope for a full recovery.

Pretty cool to be contacted by your national media to check out your collection. If you don't mind me asking, did you decline because you aren't feeling well or just wish to keep your collection private (aside from pics you post)? Your's is definitely one of the grandest and most unique collections I've ever seen, so I can understand the interest.

Congrats on the Babylon 5 DVD boxset my friend :clap and that IronTrooper rocks!!! :yess:

Great Great Score on the Babylon 5 Gift set my Friend Sergui, Excellent Post

Thanks Andy and Al! :duff For me Babylon 5 is second to Star Wars, but the problem lays in lack of collectibles from this fantastic series.

I didn't buy too much lately, since as some of you know I'm saving for my medical bills. Still I wanted to get this Babylon 5 G'Kar bust from ebay, as I'm a HUGE Babylon 5 fan:

If you look closely at that auction you'll see a new "cool" option offered by ebay: Import charges: $21.72. All this because of the new Global Shipping Program (GSP) they implemented for international buyers. So I have to pay the extra $21.72 to a third party company, even if items under about $60 are not subject to taxing in Romania.
:thud:

I contacted the seller to see if he can remove the GSP option but no answer. Ebay is going from bad to worse.

A great youtube video explaining a lot about this GSP **** - well worth watching even if it is 18 minutes long:

Thank you IS! :hi5:

The thing, as I said before, is that I prefer keeping a low profile regarding my collection in my country. People here don't really understand what collecting movie memorabilia means, and to be honest I don't want to be a pioneer in this area either. My friends can visit anytime, but if someone else wants to learn about my collection, they can do it online on forums or on my youtube channel

From the old times when I worked at radio, the Babylon 5 original soundtrack CD's directly from the music company which released them, Sonic Images (owned by the former Tangerine Dream member Christopher Franke, who also composed the soundtrack for Babylon 5 - and for many more other movies and series like Universal Soldier, The Outer Limits, Walker - Texas Ranger, Pacific Blue etc.):

The funny thing is that I was also a co-producer for an album released by the same company Sonic Images / Earthtone Records called "Noua Romanie - Rebirth Of A Nation":

Many thanks Electro. :duff I'm not an autograph collector like others out there, but I like having a signature from the people who were involved in a way or another with the pieces I'm collecting.

A really nice Black Series 6" Sandrooper as present from a good friend - I weathered it a bit more, and painted the white joints black as they should have been:

Now just to get the Black Series Stormtrooper :)

Re: ►► Jkno's Imperial collection from Transylvania ◄◄

The uber accurate Stormtrooper blaster power cylinders made by Andy (PlayfulWolfCub) on FISD 501st forum finally arrived. :) The details of these greeblies are simply amazing, their accuracy surpasses any other attempt in making these cool parts of an E-11. He used a real trio of capacitors, added a great accurate weathering, and even beautiful display cases and numbered COA's.

You can find out more about the long research and the work involved in making these fantastic E-11 cylinders here: E-11 Power Cylinders Research Thread - 501st First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment.

From Andy's research: "We know that these were made from some type of electronic component but, despite fans searching long and hard over the years, no-one has yet discovered exactly what they were originally used for. The most recent research suggests that they were probably taken out of British military RADAR equipment from the 1950s.

There aren’t many detailed photographs of the Cylinders on blasters for us to study. Fortunately the same electronic components were also used on the MSE droid, Luke’s landspeeder and the Y-Wing targeting computer. Studying good photographs of these props provides us with enough information to recreate the E11 Power Cylinders very accurately."

There are 2 versions I chose to be made for my Sterling E-11 (though there are all 5 versions available):

- shape A - "Leia's Escort" used by the Stormtroopers escorting Leia on Tantive 4, this one is more weathered, and comes with a cool straggly wire
- shape B - "Detention Block" from one of Han’s E-11 blasters in the Detention Block corridor

Now I can finally say my Sterling blaster is finished, and I could display it with any of the 2 cylinders, because they come with strong earth magnets on the back. But I intend to display my blaster with the Detention Block version, and keep the weathered one in its small display box on the shelf next to the E-11.
