The helo insertion has his fingerprints all over it, as do the interactions between Hawkins and Billy.

Rogue One came close. But for some reason, GotG just feels more like the SW films we old farts grew up on.

The only reason Mel wasn't cast is because Miller got cold feet. Like Ford is to Indy, Max is Mel is Max. There's a certain charm in the low-budget Aussie flicks that made Fury Road seem like a big budget, soulless, recast, reboot. Hence the comparison to George Romero's Land of the Dead to...

Are they, though? I agree with jye. :lol As for Blade Runner, I didn't like it better than the original, but I felt it did a nice job of keeping the story going without bastardizing the original. Something most sequels can't claim - RoboCop included.

Catching up on all the garbage that happened over the past (8?) years. :lol I just learned what Carl did a few months back. :horror

Have you seen my wife's sisters?! I wouldn't touch them with jye's ****.

Currently reading your personal loathing in the TLJ thread. :rotfl Kinda feel like I've been cheating with the super hot, slutty girl at work, as Guardians of the Galaxy has been giving me my Star Wars fix. :lol

Star Wars: Episode IX - THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019 At least that's consistent with the new movies.

Read the post above. We all have a sympathy **** in our bootybaskets. :tap :lol Besides, don't you both like these new Star Wars sequels? :nono :pfft:

"RoboCop Returns" directed by Neill Blomkamp

I look at it like a sympathy ****. WB's track record has been horrendous up until BvS. They turned Superman into Goku Black, did a decent job with BvS to bring him around and thankfully killed him off (Batman rescuing Martha was worth the price of admission alone). Wonder Woman was good. And...

I know Bane's Fury Road was a box office smash, but IMO, despite Miller, it failed to capture the magic of the originals (yes, even Thunderdome :lol). Max is Mel is Max. That and the bigger budget made it seem to the franchise what Land of the Dead seems to Romero's original trilogy. That...

"RoboCop Returns" directed by Neill Blomkamp

I dunno. The second could've been much worse. If that's the bar, despite Follywood's current track record, there's a slim possibility they could do it. Especially if Weller returns. Granted, it's as likely as someone with sciatic twitching threading a needle, but there are a small handful of...

"RoboCop Returns" directed by Neill Blomkamp

Unfortunately, as much as we'd like the tongue-in-cheek politics of the original, I have a sneaking suspicion we'd see them re-write the script to either see RoboCop persecuted for his form of justice, or doing a Magnum Force spin with a pro-BLM agenda, in an attempt to demonize law enforcement...

It still happens on those rarest of occasions. That's one of the reasons Modern Family is so enjoyable. It's completely subliminal to those who don't see it. :lol

"RoboCop Returns" directed by Neill Blomkamp

Hmmm.... RoboCop gets exported from Detroit to Cali, after taking out OCP and the local government, to clean up the mess in KALIFOЯNIA and eliminate the cheap Chinese BoboCorp knockoff kits imported by Kali's Continental Congress of AntiFa and made into SocialCops from "cheap labor" and...

"RoboCop Returns" directed by Neill Blomkamp

Gee.... this is the love I get?! :tap I'm sure they'll try to shoehorn some kinda "social justice" BS into the film's story (though Detroit grew to resemble the one in the first film). Either that or they'll race-swap Murphy with RuPaul replacing Weller and expect the box office to rake in...

Can't imagine what the exec meetings are like: "Our earnings last year show that these remakes just aren't financially viable. We need to find another property to reboot!" :duh
