So I watched Part 2 and enjoyed it. There’s nothing “bad” for me about the two PG13 cuts of Part 1 and Part 2. In particular really like the characters, story, and universe/lore. I want to see the saga develop, and I look forward to the quest that the surviving team now has at the end of Part 2.

I’m fine with a slow burn for worldbuilding. I want to gradually learn more about all this stuff: the Imperium, The Mother World, the origins of the royal family, Issa in each incarnation/aspect, the creepy cyber-punk religion that corrupts Issa's true spiritual meaning, the rebellion, the Jimmies and their chivalric role, the cyber-punk tech including the neural link, and so on. In the first two films for a franchise like this I only expect to be introduced to those things.
This is where I feel Snyder and Netflix have completely missed the mark. I think more people might have cut them some slack on RM if it was released as a limited/continuing series, but there is an expectation amongst viewers that they're going to witness a complete story (with character development) unfold on screen when they sit down to watch a movie. The best movie franchises have launched from single films that were so captivating that sequels were the next logical step, whereas it seems RM has the cart before the horse. It's all well and good that Snyder has mapped out where he wants his RM franchise to go, but it's not going to matter if he doesn't first get viewers to care enough about the world and characters that he created. He may have achieved this in your view, but by all indications you're decidely in the minority.

Do you tink Netflix will care as long as it brings in the views?

If we have to change it, I suggest "What thought can ironwez pretend is a fact today" but it might get confused with other threads.
You never gave me any facts to to counter . Your argument is only “nuh uh you’re a hater” like you saying people would enjoy a cyborg movie more than Bp. Nobody connected with that cyborg or cares about him at that level he wasn’t built up like black panther and he’s boring . A monotone sad version of the character. Also terrible design

No, but if people don't find the first installment engaging they're unlikely to return for more. RM may have gotten enough views to satisfy Netflix, but will Part 2 & subsequent installments do as well? Unlikely. That's why I think a series treatment would have worked better. People are more accustomed to (& tolerant of) slow builds and gradual character reveals with a series, whereas in movies? Not so much.

Netflix doesn’t care about the views anymore they care about new subs. Views are a plus. They canceled way better shows that had highter views cause they thought they didn’t bring in the money. So yea rebel moon def ain’t getting its third or fourth directors cut. Nobody cares that much. Hell you might not get a third. I’ll be praying for ya.

Yea pretty much. It’s getting ripped apart everywhere and fallout series is the one getting positive praise.
The complaint I’m seeing is the slow motion

Yes, that's what I was waiting for!! Alatar's blustery long-winded defense of a truly rotten movie, delivered with the air of "You people are just too stupid to get it....I get it. This is ART."

The way he bends himself into a pretzel to try to find any kind of deeper "meaning" in this dreck reminds of an art critic breathlessly raving about a pile of trash in the corner, not realizing it's just garbage.

No, the glasses on the floor were not a breathtaking and daring statement in the world of art. And a bad movie is just a bad movie. It's all it is, all it ever will be. Nobody intends to make a bad movie. Snyder tried. He failed. He's just not talented enough, or maybe he's just lazy.

Rebel Moon is very, very bad. You can try to read into it, but there's just nothing there. You're just on your knees taking a picture of someone's glasses on the floor.

Alatar starts his 21st viewing...

Where did I say more people would enjoy a Cyborg movie more than BP?

The bold above is what you think, that doesn't cover everyone.
Cyborg would have been in Justice League and the Flash before his solo. He could have had a better set up than BP.

Didn’t you say they would enjoyCyborg more so then BP cause it was a bland movie.
And what do you mean lol. He was barely in bvs and in the JL version he was just there in the synder cut he had more to do but he was just there. Soo mean maybe if DC stayed the course he would have but I doubt it do to snyders terrible writing

Well Snyder is coming out with an animated series so maybe he will excel in that? That should be exciting to see.

For the same amount of time some people have wasted defending these two films, they could have up-skilled themselves and got a degree in a new career that doesn't allow them so much free time.

:slap

Can I put "Didnt watch Rebel Moon" in a college essay and get in? My parents would finally be proud of me.
I'm just one man. But I feel compelled to do my part. If my complaining saves just one person the precious two hours of their life that would be better spent mowing the lawn, painting a fence, or sitting on the toilet instead of watching this pathetic drivel, then complain I will.

See, now I have to watch it. You made it sound so bad it's enticing.

They cancel everything I love. I wrote a letter but never got a response.

OFFICIAL ADMIN: Guys, cool down with the calling out members who liked the movies. It's not for everyone, and that's fine, but I don't want the thread to break down to pettiness and name-calling.

I said I think it would have been a better movie.
Black Panther was in Civil War before his solo movie. I wasn't even going to count BvS but yeah he was in that too. Cyborg would have been in Justice League and the Flash before his solo, He was a huge part of JL.
Zack Snyder isn't the writer for any DC movies.

I doubt that and Snyder didn’t write the story for bvs or Snyder cut or men of steel? He just shrugged his shoulders and got handed the script and directed it? No input whatsoever?

He's credited with writing the JL/ZSJL story with Chris Terrio. Terrio has the the sole screenplay credit for ZSJL and shares it with one Joss Whedon for the PG-13 Netflix cut OG JL. :wink1:

Damn so it all comes full circle. Kinda like how snyders best film dawn of the dead had the help of James Gunn

You don't get it. It's a deconstruction of Teen Titans Go! Cyborg.
