People that dislike what Snyder does to begin with… in all honesty it’s hard to imagine them somehow magically liking whatever he comes up with for the director’s cuts of Rebel Moon. I’m sure they’ll come at it hard as ever.

But I like what he does so I won’t let that negativity cow me. I’m just being a voice for those that do like the deconstruction and his offbeat, subversive vision in general.
When Part 2 dropped yesterday before I had a chance to watch it all the usual detractors had already watched and were complaining about it. What did they expect?

Wonder what my buddy t800 thinks. He’s been quiet. Perhaps Snyder let him down
Nice to know I'm being thought of
Jack Nicholson Thank You GIF

Are ... you ... from ... France?
No the UK, but back in the 70’s 2000ad, Phillippe Druillet, Moebius, Liberatore et al were a huge influence.
Man , there were so many awesome comics back in the 70’s and 80’s coming out of the UK and Europe.

Watched this last night with the family. I preferred the structure of the first one overall as it mixed it up more.
This had a really slow first hour but the 2nd hour is pretty much non-stop really good sci-fi action.
Currently I would give it a 6/10. That could up or down slightly depending on which half I think about.

The first hour was that slow I don't look forward to watching it again but every time I always like his movies more on a 2nd watch.

I still don't like the depth of field on the lens when in the village. Jimmy looked cool AF, with some really amazing shots. Some of the FX were quite surprising how good they looked. A large amount of the fight choreography too.

I honestly have no idea how the R rated version will work for me. They will be longer, which I don't look forward to but BvS at 3 hours flies by compared to the 2.5 hour version and even though ZSJL isn't a great example it feels the same length as Josstice League even though it's double.

My thoughts exactly. If there are any boobie scenes, I'll just look at them on the boobie scenes website. No way will I ever sit through either part of this movie again. Life's too short.
They really should have released the boobie version first. That way at least some people might have been distracted enough to not notice how wodden and awkwardly clumsy the script actually is... Biggest releasing mistake ever!!! :slap

... but after last night I'm pretty sure even the sex scenes will be ruined with some awkward dialogues... :monkey3

Just watched it for a second time on the TV upstairs', 4k Dolby Vision, gotta say really fun movie and looks spectacular. I hope Snyder gets a chance to finish these.

Twice in 24 hours?? How in the world did you stay awake during that first hour of harvesting grain, putting grain in bags, stacking bags, harvesting more grain, making more stacks, working the plow, harvesting, and stacking??

This movie has potential use as a torture device.

Last time I watched it I would have agreed with you that it was too long. Oddly the second time round it seemed just right.

Geez Louise, Oto! SPOILERS!! It's statistically possible that at least one board member might still want to watch this movie. Not me of course, but someone. :lol

So he pretty much uses slow mo to pad out the run time. People want 6 hrs of that? This is why I didn’t think the Snyder cut was all that great. He literally had a 5min slo mo scene of Lois getting coffee and walking out.

Also lol at Ray fisher for still crying about not getting the respect he deserves when broski got disrespected more in this franchise then in Justice league 😂

Not only that, the "non-stop really good sci-fi action" is horribly staged, amateurish crap.

Everything we've always hated about bad action movies all wrapped up in a turd sandwich.

Characters with plot armor being shot at by legions of enemies but not getting a scratch, while simultaneously hitting all their targets? Check.

100-pound woman murdering dozens of men twice her size without breaking a sweat? Check.

And most egregious of all, the same dumbass scenario in Part One....our heroes are captured and surrounded by hordes of enemies with all their guns trained on them.....one wrong move, one little TWITCH, and they'd be filled with a hundred laser blasts before their body hits the ground....yet all those heavily armed bad guys stand around with their thumbs up their ass while the "hero" has time to pull out a gun in plain sight and get the shots off before anyone can even react.

A five year old kid playing with action figures in the backyard would call BS on that one.

the dude who played cyborg. He was promised his own movie (nobody wouldve watch that) and to be on the level of Black Panther. When it all fell through they scrapped the plans they had so he began crying on the internet on how he waswronged. At first everyon ewas on his side but then once the snyder cut came to be he wouldn't stop crying about how he was treated and how any Dc movie that comes out is bad and pretty much his whining black balled him from being in any movie again and the only person who will put him in a movie is snyder but just barely and so of course he is going to shill and glaze the man extra heavy cause he's the only person who will give him a chance again.

I felt for the guy but he played a crap cyborg and was even more boring in that snyder cut. Should of just shut up and joined the MCU or something but the dude kept bitching everyday and it got on everyones nerves and he still does to this day. Even crying about the new Superman movie. Like dude get a life.

Uh, joke.

"Deconstruction" is a term that gets thrown around a lot in here (and on Food challenges)... yet it is never really explained what exactly he's 'deconstructing' and how his take reveals the hypocrisy and inconsistencies of the genre and how he reinterprets that.

The movie is a straight, by-the-numbers, cliched use of the 'Constructed' formula. Nothing has been turned on its head. There is no reveal of irony. No challenge to the formula at all.
